    What is this screw?

Dixie TN Mt Rifle - does anyone know what this screw is for? The one behind the rear trigger.

    Miroku tack driver

Made an impulse buy from a forum member a couple of days ago, .50 cal Dixie Tenn Mt Rifle - took it to the range today and to say I was surprised is an understatement. Loaded up 40 gr of FFF, a .490 ball and the first shot went dead center exactly where I was aiming. That was cool for a new gun...

    What do I have here?

An old friend has had these two pistols in his collection for a number of years, took them on a trade one day, and is now letting things go (age catching up). He has no interest in bp guns (never did) and has never fired either piece but they've obviously been used by someone in the past and...

    Proper rear sight

Recently bought a late Lancaster style flint rifle from another member that has a peep sight rather than a standard rear sight. I can't use the peep in local club shoots and need to find and install a replacement. The dovetail is there but there's a blank that will probably have to be hammered...

Where did the kit come from?

Am told this is a late Lancaster style. Can anyone make a guess as to what company the kit came from?

Where can I find .330 pure lead round balls?

I have a brand new 1849 Pocket pistol and the recommended ball size is .330 but I can't find any.

    Lack of cylinder safety pins

Recently picked up a Pietta 1861 Navy that is just about flawless with the exception of having no safety pins on the cylinder. Can always leave one cylinder unloaded so it's not a huge issue but I'm surprised that the hammer is notched for the pins but there are none. Wonder if this was a...

    CLOSED Pietta 1862 Police

Don't know why Pietta called this a "Police" as that's not what it is. This is a .36 cal, six shot, with a half-fluted cylinder and a 5 1/2" bbl. For want of a better description I'll say it should be called an 1861 Navy Sheriff's model. May have been fired but I see no evidence of it. $300...

    Percussion caps on auction

Just won an online auction for these cans of powder and 1,200 #11 caps. The old cans are interesting and I've no idea if they're full or partial but doubt I'd use the powder unless I was absolutely sure it wasn't mixed with something else. But wanted the caps and ended up getting it all for $62.50

    Finish on Remington

This is a Navy Arms marked (by Pietta) Remington I picked up a while back. Does the stainless finish mimic something was done on originals, maybe nickel?

    Problems with Lee mold

I have a Lee traditional mini mold (.575/500) that I just can't get consistent results from. In one run I'll probably have to discard half of what I cast because they're oversize and I can't load them. I"ll have some that come out .575 to .577 and a bunch of others all the way up to .580/.581...
