    I would say since I cast from a cast iron pot on a coal fire outside... about 70*F. Maybe a bit less, and slightly breezy. 😁

    So what’s the difference between a trade rifle and a muzzleloading rifle? I understand the difference between a rifle and a musket I think... the rifle has rifling and the musket is a smoothbore, but what’s the difference then between a smoothbore musket and a Fowler?

    Here's one I'd never seen before

    I did a paper in high school on the history of firearms, and read on the experimenting they did with getting the projectile to twist. Some tries were twisting bbls. I never seen one like that before. Usually they were square or oval.
