    .58 caliber?

Fell in love with .58"s when I bought my Navy Zouve. Have since bought a T/C Big Boar, Pedersoli Kodiak Dbl Brl and a Pedersoli Harpers Ferry Flintlock, all in .58. Wife thinks I have enough!

    Pietta 1858 Sheriff Disassembly

My loading lever latch and for the longest time, various attempts to pput it back failed. Tried everything, JB weld, crazy glue, anything I could find. Finally gave up so now I secure the loading lever to the barrel with velcro. I know it's not time appropriate, but neither is the pistol.

    Retina issues and Recoil

A few years back I noticed many floaters and streaks in my right eye. My right eye retina (Shooting eye) detached. Had next day surgery to re-attach. As a result, had it detach again 2 days later! Had cataract surgery in both eyes. Now have "metamorphopsia" where the eyes don't talk to each...

    Wholesale Hunter

A few years ago they were the only place I could find the 12 ga. slugs I wanted. They were pretty quick min their response. I've since moved on to BP hunting so I haven't ordered from them lately.

off hand shooting, a real eye opener!

While I have been hunting for many years (>40 years) successfully, I have never shot a deer in any position except offhand. Years of competition shooting with the M1 garand taught me well. So, whether it's my 12 gauge shotgun, 30-06, .50 or .58 cal. percussion, it's always been offhand. Now...

    T/C .58 Big Bore

Thanks to all. Educational. Looks as though I'll be using my Pedersoli double in the woods, the Big Boar out to 100yds, and maybe put better sights on a Zouave to out further. As one can see, I do love the .58!

    T/C .58 Big Bore

This explains a lot. Thanks. Now I need to figure out if a .575 RB, 100gr 2f and .010 lubed patch will have enough energy remaining after a flight of 100-150 yds. to drop a deer.

    T/C .58 Big Bore

It appears that I've been misled about the range of a Big Boar. My enthusiasm got the best of me. Any advice on a .58 that will stretch to 150yds with accuracy?

    T/C .58 Big Bore

Oops, your right. Big Boar. Mea culpa.

    T/C .58 Big Bore

Mine has a recoil pad similar to my Pedersoli double.
