    Cleaning a flintlock?

Do you guys use solvents or the good old hot water soap method for cleaning flintlocks? I have a 54 cal flint Renagade that I want to shoot for the first time. This gun is like new so I want to clean it right. I plan on fffg for the pan and ffg for the load with a patch and ball.

    Thompson Center Hawken Hammer problem

I'm working on a very abused TC Hawken 50Cal that I picked up. The gun is in rough shape and had something clogging the barrel. After using a grease gun as suggested here I solved that issue. On to the lock which the hammer would not cock. After looking at youtube I took the lock apart and got...

    Stuck load?

I was given an old 50 Cal Thompson Hawken from a friend that cam from an estate. The rifle is missing the rod and stock retaining pin. and not in very good shape but salvageable.
