    Lyman GPR

    I also have the left handed 50 cal percussion. I put a peep site on it which when coupled with the set trigger makes it an awesome hunting rifle.

    What if you don't get a shot?

    Thanks for the responses. Sounds like a new cap each hunt with a quick clean down the nipple. Although the cap sounded like a full ignition it may have just cleared the nipple channel. I always clean the gun if shot and leave the hammer resting on the nipple with leather in between.

    Traditions Woodsman peep sight

    I have a left handed lyman great plains hunter and I just put a lyman 57sml on it. I didn't have to drill the tang of course but it doesn't interfere with the hammer. Not sure about the traditions.
