    Enfield/Zouave ramrod question

    How were the steel ramrods on Enfield or Zouave rifled used In battle to seat a ball? The threaded end would punch a hole in ones palm unless some type of palm saver were used and if installed, you couldn’t put the rod back in the rifle?
