    Bullet Traps & Target Stand

This target system is very reactive and will reset in about 3 seconds. This video shows it being hit with a 12 ga slug @ 25 yards. No long chains, no special set up, just a T Post a hanger and the target plate with a 3 link section of chain that cannot be hit by the bullet. The KISS...

    Bullet Traps & Target Stand

We set up a bunch of these "Tire Targets" at a local 3 gun match with the intention of preventing splatter damage to the HESCO walls used for the "Fun House" and to the shooter. We were shooting AR 15's and shotguns at almost point blank ranges (frangible bullets with the AR15's). I salvaged...

    Bullet Traps & Target Stand

Check out this bullet trap and target stand where you can recover almost 100% of your lead !! Mounts on a standard T Post. The target plate is reactive with good sound when hit. Lead is deposited inside the tire and can be easily scooped up and remelted.

What Does Your Range Bench Set-Up Look Like?

My wife of 50 years actually bought me that bumpersticker because she has a sense of humor and doesn't take advice from women.

What Does Your Range Bench Set-Up Look Like?

We do black powder in here too but this day we were loading for a 1000 yd F Class match at Quantico Marine Corps Base. My range extends to 450 yards. My longest MZ shot here was 5 consecutive hits on a 350 yard 12" plate.

    What are your favorite targets?

Hang Fast Targets has just designed a new "TREE HANGER" which attaches to a tree (or anything you can screw into). Very quick installation which makes setting up "woods walks" very easy. They will be on sale for labor day.

Shooting Thru Steel? Is that possible..??

After being hit on multiple occasions by frags bouncing back from damaged steel I can tell you that watching this video is HORRIFYING on so many levels. It is unfortunate that so many shooters are not aware of the danger these targets can pose especially when shooting larger projectiles at...

Shooting Thru Steel? Is that possible..??

This is why you ALWAYS use AR500 for shooting targets. Eventually they WILL get hit with a round that damages them and creates a hazard. So don't "fix" them, SCRAP THEM and use proper steel (AR500) for safety.

Shooting Thru Steel? Is that possible..??

The problem isn't shooting steel... it's shooting DAMAGED steel. Divots, dents and craters will re-direct fragments back to the shooter. Muzzleloaders do not have enough velocity to damage soft steel 3/8" thick or thicker. The problem is when your soft steel gets hit with a high velocity...

Shooting Thru Steel? Is that possible?

I have... on multiple occasions, usually in the context of a pistol match where the steel targets had craters or mounted on a flat steel "foot". My wife caught a piece in her neck that was touching her jugular vein.... that was "fun". Saw another guy get his teeth knocked out by a full...

    Targets; Opinions wanted

Maybe, but I shoot a number of disciplines and each uses their sights differently so I have to think about it. For example, Palma, F class, Hi Power and PRS all use basically the same rifles, calibers and shoot the same distances but all use sights in a different manner. To properly zero a...

    Targets; Opinions wanted

I think the question of a 6 o'clock hold is being over thought. It's not necessarily for hunting or for general plinking, shooting steel, water bottles or targets of opportunity. I use it only when working up loads or shooting a "bullseye" type target in a match and only if the gun had been...

    Targets; Opinions wanted

Most exploding targets require high velocity rifles. These Firebird stick on targets can be set off with an air rifle going 800 fps + so no problem with a muzzleloader

Peep sights with adjustable apertures will mitigate the need for special glasses.

This target captures your lead so you can recycle into new bullets. It also reacts, rings and never needs changing.

    Targets; Opinions wanted

The 6 oclock hold gives you a more accurate point of aim on a black bullseye. I use the 6 oclock hold but I sight the gun in to hit at 6 oclock for hunting. If you are shooting for score on a black bullseye then adjust the sights to hit the proper height above the point of aim for that...

What "fun" targets are your fav's

Exploding targets just got a lot easier and cooler. I just purchased these Firebird "peel and stick" targets that require no mixing. Just peel and stick on a flat hard surface. They will activate with a minimum of a pellet rifle going 900 fps

What "fun" targets are your fav's

Here is a prototype I've been working on for a precision rifle class. The flapper flashes orange when hit. I'm shooting it here with a .223. Mounts on a standard T Post, no tools.
