    CVA Kentucky.45

I built my CVA kit in the early 80s for about $25 in a close out sale. As an experiment, I used a light stain for the entire stock, then I wrapped the stock with twine. Afterward I applied a dark walnut stain. Finished with a spray polyurethane. Ron

    Uberti Walker nipple wrench

CyrusP - I’m glad the Ted Cash wrench set worked out for you. I know it beats the heck out of some of those poorly manufactured nipple wrenches. It’s hard to be a good product. Ron

    1863 Zouave

I have a 1963 Zouave (Antonio Zoli barrel) which I built from a kit in the late 70s. It is an excellent shooter with the no longer available Lee Modern Minie 470 Grain (aka Trash Can design) with 65-70 grains of FF powder. It is accurate as a rifled musket and you can shoot all day with this...

    1863 Zouave

DO NOT load the Zouave or “Buffalo Hunter” rifles with 200 grains of black powder. The original article from a 1977 Navy Arms Catalog states they used 125 grains in the Buffalo Hunter. See article below with the Buffalo Hunter paragraphs circled in red. The 180 grain FFF load was used in the...

Which Lee Melting Pot To Buy

I have a 10 lb. Lee bottom spout. Had a slight leak around the spout threads. See pic of the new part, to see where I was having the leak. After a close inspection, I found the spout nut was not tight enough. I contacted Lee and they sent another part, lead pot/spout assembly. In the mean...
