    Cataract Surgury and Shooting

Had both of mine done years ago. Fixed focus lenses. I found a thing called Eye Pal that made all the difference in the world. I could shoot without it, but putting them on my long distance glasses was amazing.

    Two Navies, two different cylinders

If I shoot the .375 ball in my Uberti G&G, it will chain fire. It won't with the .380...I got a second cylinder for it (unfortunately it's for a "Navy" and has the roll scene on it) with .369 measured chambers, and it shoots the .375 just fine.

When I'm using either pyrodex or APP, the patches are in good shape, when I use T-7, they are little puffballs of fabric....

I don't want to get anything nickel plated, but does anybody know where I can get the color case hardening redone?

    New Uberti Navy

I see what your saying...BUT: To eat away at, erode, diminish, or consume gradually; to cause a gradual deterioration in; to produce (some change) through attrition, exposure, or constant use. You're going to wear a hole in the bottom of those shoes.”ƒ The water has slowly worn a channel...

    New Uberti Navy

If it moves under high pressure, I use lubriplate white lithium grease...on everything..especially my "unmentionable" firearms...I have 100 year old unmentionable with thousands or rounds through it and no wear on anything

Black Powder - refresh me please...

So far, so good. I'm still putting on about 10,000 a season.

Black Powder - refresh me please...

first off, I would ride my motorcycle, and probably would consider that to be free shipping. I know what you're saying, I've thought about it a lot. If I could only try it out without having to invest a lot of money in one pound. So far, the T-7 works quite well, and I'm pretty satisfied with...

    Back in the old day

I have one that will chain fire. It's a .36 Uberti. I discovered the chamber requires a .380 ball, rather than .375...that fixed the problem. When it did chain fire, all it did was stuff a ball into the loading lever and skim some lead off the wedge. Cleaned up and no damage at all.

sure, rub it in...might have to make the 250 mile trip to southwest Iowa...

Black Powder - refresh me please...

I can and do go to the club as often as I can get away, but an hour or so is all I can usually spare during the week. I went today and stayed for 2 hours. My wife was home, so I didn't have to worry about the dogs.

Black Powder - refresh me please...

I wish I could shoot that much, but I just can't get more than an hour or so a few days a week to go. It's a 20 mile trip to the range, an hour of shooting and back home...that's how it works for me. That limited time is one of the reasons I premeasure my powder charges...saves a lot of time!

Black Powder - refresh me please...

That would be great if the (semi) local prices were that low, but they are not. I'm the only one I know of in my general area shooting more traditional muzzle loaders. Everybody else is shooting (when they get ready for deer season) inlines and using pellets...I can find pellets and sabots all...

Black Powder - refresh me please...

Exactly. Once I got the rifle grouping well with a volume load, I weigh ten volume loads and average them so I can duplicate the load exactly. As I remember, the 70 "grain" load of T-7 weighs like 44 grains...I have it all written down. As far as left over T-7, It takes 2 hot water patches to...

Black Powder - refresh me please...

This was done with T-7. The premeasured charges were by weight (averages of 10 "by eye" measured charges) so they can be consistent. The ones I did at the range varied a bit, but the ones that were done beforehand by weight did not vary at all. It's more important in the smaller charge volume...

Black Powder - refresh me please...

I guess I have to beg to differ with you about "minute of a deer". Maybe it's just me, but I weigh all my charges. No not necessarily in "grains" but they are all the same. As a test,on Independence Day, I shot 9 rounds of PRB from my customized Bobcat. The first 5 were measured with a powder...
