Pedersoli 12g Side by Side Year? Value?

Indeed, the bore is .720, as measured with a snap gauge. I can find no restriction in the barrels whatsoever. I measured from six inches down the bore to the muzzle. If I could figure out how, I would measure all the way to the breech plug. I will not attempt to remove a breech plug to measure...

Pedersoli 12g Side by Side Year? Value?

Mine is AE , so I take it, it was proofed in 1979, is this correct. Also both barrels are marked 18.3. Does anyone know if these are choked, or not?

Cap popped, rifle didn't fire, until later

I had a very similar incident with an 30-06 in a ruger no.1 a few years ago. Only, after waiting a little while, I ejected the cartridge, I tossed it on the floor of the range. After firing two more rounds, the one on the floor went off. It was very disconcerting. No injuries resulted.

    Old Hickory Knife rework

Ajgall, I've made several knives out of 'Old Hickory' blades. Very easy to do, my #1 advise, is to be careful not to remove the heat treat from the blade. If I can help in any way, just contact me. Earl You tube is a goldmine for doing these knives

    early rifle charges

I thought I read somewhere, that when the long hunters went on a hunt, they bought twice as much lead, as they they bought powder. This has led me to believe, that a normal load, was half a ball weight, in powder. I'm sure I'm wrong, because my wife tells me "you ain't never been right. :)

    Bean Pots

Legs on a DO is a simple problem in a modern oven. Set the DO on a cookie sheet, or a pizza pan, problem solved.

    TVM - Leman rifle?

I've got a .58 flintlock, that likes 90 grs. of FFg. It has the narrow, curved butt plate. After 20 rounds or so, it will begin to wear on you.

    What's your favorite sharpening stone?

I like the edge of the glass, in the drivers side window, in my old ford truck. Then strop it. I don't think you can do this in a chevy
