    Fix hair trigger

Have an original 1860 Army, refurbished. Has a super light hair trigger, dangerously so for inexperienced shooters. How is that fixed? There is no obvious wear on any of the parts.

price of revolvers in the US

was just noticing a distinct price drop in C&B revolvers (used) down south. last year and into the spring you didn`t see many revolvers offered for $150. was considering selling my 2 gen Dragoon across the border, but might reconsider and get a better dollar for it up here in Canada. i don`t...

    Small ASM chambers?

Was cleaning my range and recovered about 200 .36 cal balls from my ASM. The fairly undamaged ones have very little rifling marks. Thought that was odd, so i chambered a ball, knocked it out and set in on the muzzle crown. Didn`t fall down the barrel, but almost. I can see the rifling grooves...

    1860 Sailors

Are there supposed to be sailors on the decks of the ships on the cylinder of an original 1860 Colt army? can`t seem to find a clear picture of the cylinder, and heard that there was Sailors depicted.

    Eye protection

Just some screen shots of me shooting an 1863 Remington. Took a video just to get the fireball, but an errant spark came back and hit my glasses in ten top left corner of the right lens. Exploded on contact, left a small divot in the lens and a lot of white residue over the lens.. don`t want to...

    Shooter`s den Sudbury

On my drive across Canada, i found this little place in Sudbury, ON. Bought a .36 RB mold, BP, caps and a pile of other stuff. Just phone ordered a .457 rb mold from Dennis, the owner. anyway, for those in the great white north, this guy has more black powder stuff jammed into a tiny store than...

Got to love living in the country

Been living out east for the last 11 years. Started shooting BP in Ontario about 2014. Between then and when i moved out of St john`s in July this year, i might have used 2 lbs of powder, maybe two and a half. got to Alberta in mid July. Bought 10 acres, and have added 2 cap and ball revolvers...

    Cleaning revolvers

To me, cleaning after shooting is part of the experience. However, i have been detail stripping and cleaning my revolvers after every outing, and some, especially the old army, take forever to clean and reassemble. do you guys do this or only do a detail strip and cleaning every so often?

    Oil for Ruger old army

Finally got back to my Ruger. Got it stripped down and found it was full of grease. Is this the recommended lube and what type would be best? Or do i need to clean this black and brown crud out and stick with oil?

    ASM 1851 navy hitting high

took above mentioned handgun out to the range. 25 gr of 3F with a RB. at 10-15 yards it was hitting 6 inches high. at 25 yds around 10-12 inches high. at 50- it was at least 20 inches over the aiming point. had to aim at the ground in front of the target to even register on my smallish 24x24...

    Gun show 1860 Army

Bought this Saturday at a local gun show. Not sure what i have here. Barrel has what I believe is a gain twist- its straight leaving the forcing cone then starts to twist. I have never seen this type of rifling before. Was touted as an original. Has manufacture date of 1868 based on the serial...

    Load for Brass 1851 navy

Looking for recommended bullet and ball sizes plus charge load for an ASM 1851 Navy in 36. what you guys use? Not interested in beating this thing apart with max charges, planning on using it more as an introduction to Cap and ball for new shooters as opposed to loading for the apocalypse.

    ASM .36 brass

Looking at this, don`t know much about the older ones. Arbor looks worn, but is this a normal look for these? Rest of the gun looks good other than the crud on the hammer. This is not in my hands, about 2900 km away from me. Recoil shield looks ok too

    Ramrod for .22 cal

Looking for suggestions on materials to use. Most things that small seem really bendy. Maybe a high carbon rod tempered to a spring with a ball end?
