Those In The State of Arizona

I do my own thing. I bought a used wall tent, boy Scouts. Was told I can't use it, so I hold my own fevendevous in the white mountains. I set up my tent and have a blast.

    new group

I just today found out about two rondy's here in AZ and the one close by is this coming weekend, Nov 11th, and I already have other commitments. I belong to one group here in AZ, paid my dues and joined, have only see a couple of newsletters, had we received a newsletter I'd have planned on...

    Winter Rendezvous Camp

Bass are good eating, no matter what type of gear one uses. Just a couple for a meal, pond's to small to hit it heavy. Sure loved the photos though, and appreciate you sharing with us.

    Hunting camp eats

I take elk, Jalapeno summer sausage, man, I could live on that stuff. When we get elk, that's one of my priority meats when we have it cut up.

    Rendezvous Rules?

:v Well, I'm still new and learning, but I think that being pc is a good thing. Somewhere there needs to be rules for each of us to follow. I'd hate to have a motorhome parked next to my camp, and have to listen to a generator running half the time. I someone's cover slips, why not just mention...

    wall tents

Ok guys, you win, I won't bring my tent, but will use my white tarp. I was worried about someone taking my guns if out in the open, but no one has had anything but good to say about those attending. I still have a great tent I can use by myself camping. Two guys in the powderhorn clan in Az got...

    wall tents

Well, just cause a guy can't afford a new georgous white type wall tent is not cool if he can find something more affordable. You're discriminating by not allowing something else that works, so folks, I'm outa here, permanently. My and my green wall tent can be found in the high lonesome...

    wall tents

To Colorado Clyde, you're absolutely right, the stove will allow me to camp after the crowds are gone for the winter. I cold and snow is fine with me. I wanted a wall tent so I could set up a cot inside as getting up off the ground in the middle of the night is a problem for me. Also, my guns...

    Rendezvous Rules?

Being on a tight budget, I was fortunate to find a used boy scout wall tent, $80.00, and a frame kit is $160.00 and I thought I'd scored big time. Now I find out I can't use it at rondy's cuz it ain't white. I wanted to bring several rifles and pistols to shoot, and was wanting to keen them out...

    wall tents

I thought I'd done well, found a wall tent I can afford, but I was wrong I guess. The Indians painted their tipi's but didn't dye them. White is definitely not period correct. No mountain man ever carried a white wall tent and set it up. An indian war party could see that white from miles away...

    wall tents

In other words, a real mountain man didn't use anything white. Yet reenactors insist on white tents. Still don't understand why.

    wall tents

My son had a used boy scout wall tent at our family reunion a few weeks ago. It is a boy scout green color. I'd like to know why only white tents are allowed at ronde's ? In reading journals of the old mountain men, they did their best to hide their camps from the Indians who wanted their...

Anyone been out to Ben Avery this weeks.

I was out there, and never again, took a while to find the vendors, and as far as shooting, The $50.00 shoot fee was in my opinion a mite steep. Seemed everyone else in town was there shooting centerfire rifles to. I looked but didn't see any muzzle loaders being shot. Din't find out about...

    tripod gun rack

I'd like to have a rack for a couple of my rifles, but am scared to death they'd grow legs and walk off while I was wandering around. I use a lean to canvas tarp so am concerned about theft.

    search for 'fire iron'

I think I'm going to get some rebar, or round bar stock, cut two pieces for uprights about three feet high, then weld three inch pieces to that every three inches at a 45 degree angle, a crossbar will rest on these, and I think it will be cheaper than any of the other stuff I see. I just pound...
