    40 cal uses?

Mine is so dad blame accurate that if Wa state allowed it for deer I wouldn't hesitate to take head shots out to 50 yds for an instant one shot kill, and never look back.

    40 cal uses?

Right on Bob. Just a backup statement concerning the power of the .40. I have read true accounts of the buff hunters using the .40/90 claiming it would shoot completely through a buff broadside at 300 yards. That's pretty dog gone powerful by anyone's standards then or now as far as black...

    New plastic Goex container

 That's exactly why I have saved the last 7 cans I had. I keep them babies waxed too, so they'll never rust :shocked2:

Black MZ in a squirrel gun

I had never used anything but Goex for 40 yrs until a little while back, about 6 mos ago, I picked up a pound of Black MZ at the Sportsmans Warehouse for $9.99 :shocked2:! to try in my .40 cal. I went back and bought ten more. I love the stuff. A lot less fouling and it'll put a ball upside a...

    powder charge

Absolutely. It has always been common knowledge to those of us in the know that in order to get more range and power from black powder the only thing you can do is get a bigger bore.

    Uberti Army Model '61 Navy

Thanks for the vid. I really enjoyed it. Thank you as well AzBPburner for some very useful information. I'm still slammed with work guys, tis that time of year for me in my line of work, so I haven't gotten to the range with 'er yet. Hopefully someday! Is all I can add at this point in time.

    GPR and RB patches

 There's not a custom rifle anywhere on the planet that will out shoot my .50 cal GPR caplock.

    Patch lube makes a difference

In my experience patch lube and patch thickness make much more difference in the performance of any particular load recipe than all other variables entered into the equation combined.

    .380 spruless ball?

"I've never found that sprues cause me problems sith accuracy, so I don't bother with tumbling, but it works very well". Absolutely Spence....I'm shooting five shots into one ragged hole at 50 yards from the bench with both Hornady swaged rb's and a cast ball I buy from The Log Cabin Shop that...

    .380 spruless ball?

Not too rough at all on the loading lever huh? Thanks for the tip/link. Your source is a helluva lot cheaper than TOW, or The Log Cabin Shop. Roughly half the price. They get $10+ per hundred.

    .380 spruless ball?

TOW and The Log Cabin Shop are the only two sources I've been able to find that offers a cast .380 ball and I have searched for them elsewhere to absolutely no end. Neither can I find a steel .380 mold. DGW has them listed. I ordered one and they were out of stock. I put it on back order and...

    Gunsmithing Business

From all the reading I've done on the matter the consensus is that even the best of builders average about $10 hr. for their effort, but they're not commuting back and forth to a job, punching a time clock, and probably not paying taxes on it either. I think it's more a labor of love than...

Has any of you suffered from BP Syndromitis?

Dang azmntman, I've always been under the impression that I was the worlds worst at this computer manure, but it looks as though I've finally met a match. :haha: yardhunter....that's some funny stuff right there, I don't care who ye are! Thanks fer tha chuckle! :haha: :haha: :haha:

Anyone experience this with Graff's or Schuetzen powder ??

If you use a 45 jag in a 50 don't use thin patch material or you'll possibly lose it. I use 2 1/2 inch square cotton flannel patches for swabbing between shots and cleaning in my 50's. I've never lost one yet, but I still keep a stuck patch remover in my range box/hunting pouch. The good thing...

Breaking down fibers in the wood?

Anytime oil permeates wood on a reoccurring continual basis it is bound to break it down. I have seen stocks that were totally wallowed out around the action, tang, and stock bolts from recoil due to oil softened wood. There's not much one can do to correct a fubar like that once it has reached...

    Traveling with ML's

If your car doesn't have a burglar alarm best to take them in the room at night. There is no shortage on thieves, they're a dime a dozen and absolutely everywhere. Better to be safe than sorry, but then, I wouldn't be able to replace my guns in a reasonable amount of time either if sticky...
