Blowing down the barrel youtube video

I do it just to see smoke trickle out the touch hole or nipple. Guess it is to make sure it is open.

    Odd caliber

I've had this for years. The stock, lock and trigger are from 1859 ( date inside lock with town name in France where it was made ) It started as a musket and was changed to a breach loader then to this (minus the scope). No name on the barrel but the rifling is 1 in 66 and is around .043 deep...

    Odd caliber

I have a .577 caliber percussion rifle I've had for years but have been on the fence about round ball size and patch thickness. Any suggestions. Thanks

I have wanted this gun since I was a kid!

It is a .577 caliber that is 1 1/8” across and 32” long 1 in 66 rifling. Stock was Belgium style shot gun from the Zulu trade era as close as I can find with the lock dated 1859 from La Toole’ France. The hammer has been cut and reshaped a few times. I used it as a sniper rifle when I did Civil...

I have wanted this gun since I was a kid!

I have the same scope. The adjustments are not that great. but it does work and the rings are hexagon so after 20 some years I hand filed them round and made a huge difference in the way they look.

New flintlock arrived: Signs of frizzen rebound?

Flip your flint in the jaws with the bevel down that might help.

    Northeast Trade co.

I've been dealing with John for 30 plus years. He's still there but his knees are getting really bad. He has parts for about anything and makes parts for some guns.

    Got lucky!

Thanks everyone I will try the 1f to see what I can do with it but I do have a nice supply of 2f so I don't know if I will need to tap into the 1f but it is nice to know I can use it if need be.

    Got lucky!

I might have to try it. Don't know where I would start with a charge though.

    Got lucky!

I was at my dads and mentioned the powder shortage and about Goex and he said he had some I could have. (we use to do civil war reenacting as artillery and infantry). So we go to the garage and he points out a powder box. It has about 20 pounds of 1f in it. Kind of bummed I told him it was for...

A Coehorn I built in the late 80's

I used this Coehorn for re-enacting through the 90's. I just finished refinishing it. I had a 1/4 scale Parrot and a confederate Cohorn to but sold the mortar and still have the Parrot barrel but it is in ruff shape.

    TC peep sight ?

    Mine just has Allen screws.

    TC peep sight ?

The one in the front just loosens the elevation and the one on top is turned to raise or lower the peep and the one on the back is windage. I just found this out myself by trail and error on a Renegade I recently received. At least that is how mine works.

    Old rifle

I've had this old frankin gun since back in the 90's the stock and lock are 1800's French I believe. It has a .577 bore that is 1 1/4" across the flats and has nice bore byt the breech plug and hammer are down right ugly. The hammer has been cut and rewelded to reach the nipple so I am finally...
