    ball over shot?

Thanks for the info gonna give it a try and see how it goes. Considering how much damage those hogs do on my ranch and the. hours is spend fixing holes in my hay meadows i would be more haunted by not putting some shot in one.

Thanks for the reply guys. What i ended up doing is going to a thinner patch and ball. .480 with muslin patch. Goes down easy with no need to swab. Shoots exactly where my other combo did. Have tested it to 100 yards. Shot about 15 shots with out swabbing. Then i used some tow and alcohol...

Managing that dang tar in patent breech?

I have a new pederasoli Kentucky with a patent breech. It is very high humidity here in South East Texas. Like on my trade gun it builds up a tar like substance in the pan and breech. I usually wipe the pan and swab the bore ever so often to stop it from fouling the powder. Yesterday after...

    Pedersoli or TVM

I need some feed back. I am in the market for a flintlock rifle. I have 2 percussion rifles and a trade gun with a L&R lock, I love all 3. Now I want a flint lock rifle. Pederasoli Kentucky less than half of what a tvm would cost me. However the twist rate is 1:48 on the 50, and I only...

Here is the total on the night. This season I will hunt all species available in East Texas. Squirrel, deer, hog, and rabbits. I killed a deer and some squirrels last year with a 32 and 54 caplock rifles. It sure is fun challenging myself.

:headslap: Hey I think I found out the issue is operator error. I shot the 32 again with the same results. Afterwards I got out my 54 Lyman plains rifle. Now this rifle I harvested a doe with last season. Made a great shot. During season I was using the adjustable rear sight that comes with...
