    GOEX sold?

Sold to a consortium including Bill Gates, Barrack Obama, Mark Zuckerburg, with financing from the Soros foundation. Their plans include shuttering the GOEX manufacturing facility and turning the property into a large experimental carbon sequestration facility, utilizing incentive funding for...

The GOEX Plant is shutting down

Western Powders, Inc owns and controls the Accurate brand name as well as Ramshot, Blackhorn, Montana Extreme and the distribution of Norma powders in the U.S. About a year ago Hodgdon bought out Western, increasing their monopoly. A couple three years go Western moved the production of...

Which story is most movie worthy?

Lexington and Concord, The Shot Heard Around The World, with a long detailed scene of the British retreat to Boston and them being sniped along the way. Alternately Jack Hinson's revenge.

    Powder shortage effects

It is is not dangerous for the intelligent and careful, likely much less dangerous than your daily commute. And there are number of well respected firearms forums who observe safety that discuss it openly and thoroughly. That we don't discuss it here is the business of those who run the site...

    Powder shortage effects

Yep and with a stroke of a pen they can be gone, as has been done with other imported firearms and ammunition. So don't count on it being around for long.

    What would you have done?

Definitely document and let someone know, for many reasons, not just if you end up catching an errant bullet.

Another good thing to notice about the video. He fires SIX shots out of each cylinder. ;)

    1858 Speed Shooting video

Actually it is pretty amazing what a really well trained rider can do on horseback. The soldiers that fought the Indian wars out west were well practiced at reloading their cartridge revolvers on horseback and replacing a cylinder does not really require any more manual dexterity.

    1858 Speed Shooting video

Those revolvers were used in far more places and for far more time than just the WBTS and I would not count the lack of cylinders found on battlefields as proof positive against the practice. Afar more convincing argument would be the tolerances of mass production of that day and the fitment of...

    1858 Speed Shooting video

That is a counter survival philosophy. You don't just go full out when a matter of real life need comes up. You go full out in your training in preparation for that. As I said above, a lot of LE officers have learned that the hard way. If you practice carefully putting spent cylinders in...

    1858 Speed Shooting video

Which is the right way to go about it. Speed comes with repetition, not rushing and trying to go faster.

    1858 Speed Shooting video

Outstanding. Some observations: As was said above, np problem with dropping the cylinders as you respond in an emergency the way you train and there are documented instance of LEOs being killed because they took those extra seconds to pick up empties or hold on to an empty mag as they had in...

Perhaps this site needs to revisit its policy on discussing the manufacture of black powder 🤔
