who all uses peeps on their percussion guns.

I like to keep the front sight centered on the barrel..."Just looks better to me" can add spacers if need on rear for elevation... I dead center drill the tang for rear peep. have also built them offset for wind age on a relined barrel. One or two range trips for final fit. ..its just a brass...

    First Flintlock Iowa Buck

Congrats on your first flintlock deer!...So rewarding... Thanks for sharing your happy place. Would be hard for me not to drop the string on that buck at 10 yards.. You must have some bruisers running around. Hunt also with a set trigger..with a little more time with yours.... you'll do fine...

    Thoughts on Eatable CWD Deer??

"Do you worry about eating it?"---------------- Yes I would worry.. and I would not knowingly consume it .. Hunted the CWD zone in Minnesota with mandatory testing with a 3-4 day wait--I processed my own deer on the date of the kill and crossed my fingers for a negative result...lots of effort...

    Pedersoli SxS Flintlock Shotgun.

Don't understand the basket weave checkering either. The mortimer lock has a double throated cock which is its weak link. It's good to finally have someone building a flintlock double barrel... Still waiting on price.

    Pedersoli SxS Flintlock Shotgun.

Picture from shot show is a 20 ga.27.5"bbl.7 lbs. Just checked their website.. The flint dbl. is not in it. So no stock dimensions yet. Pedersoli has a tendency to build high combs. without much drop..can be an issue. Their older doubles had more drop. This one looks like a good upland gun...

    Pyrodex Powder

Does this happen when using real black powder too? When I first started shooting muzzleloaders it was all pyrodex...found it way more corrosive than black powder. You just have a barrel that's used and needy... a borescope would answer your question.

    Barrel Peep Sight

Nothing special .060 wide .250 tall brass sometimes with white paint on back and top.

    Barrel Peep Sight

You are correct Sir! ....if needed. I would soldier them together after for a solid base. polish up after.... I plink and hunt... Better check club rules beforehand. Sights kept me in the game.

    Barrel Peep Sight

Tang mounted 1" back of flash pan... 42 " sight radius. Just another option other than factory. aperture can big as big as needed. No dovetail. No sight near balance point while carrying. Does not hang up or get in the way. A boon for aging eyes. 60 + year old eyes 1.5" at @ 85 yards.... This...

    Sight setups?

Small low tang peep..short brass front.. white back. Imagine having a 42" sight radius. With the option of making the sight aperture as big as you need. no dovetail..no sight near balance point during carry. a boone to aging eyes.
