    Uberti Colt 1860 Army Review

I spent some time with a Uberti Colt 1860. It is pretty fine shooting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44asx_10Gas

Cap and Ball Revolvers vs Ballistic Gel

To answer your previous query. We are going to do more gel tests, probably from further out. On what? We don't know. My first video concepts are rarely perfect, but I think each subsequent one will feature more improvements. Anything in particular you all would like to see is worthy of...

Cap and Ball Revolvers vs Ballistic Gel

I found using balls in the comparison to be a waste of time. We probably would compare balls in a future test as is. I used balls in the 31 because finding proper conicals that aren't undersized are not practical or economical. The lead ball offers as much power as possible in the small confines...

    Uberti Colt Baby Dragoon Review

    I always lose money on every video I do. I ain't Hickok45.

    Uberti Colt Baby Dragoon Review

I reviewed the rather cute Colt Baby Dragoon, the same test gun used in my CB vs Ballistic Gel video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTkNeIpSLl4

Cap and Ball Revolvers vs Ballistic Gel

Well, when you are doing a lot of this stuff on the fly, you never know what will happen. We just happen to bring along a Dragoon since viewers would ask what it would do in gel too. I would have like to have seen a regular 1860 Army vs 36 in gel. It is something worth doing in a future test...

Cap and Ball Revolvers vs Ballistic Gel

That sounds like a plan. I was back in the Houma area late last month. :)

Cap and Ball Revolvers vs Ballistic Gel

After we touched off the 44, we noticed unburned powder where the first and second block meet.

    Shooting the 1849 Colt Pocket

Yes I do. I was approached twice while I was testing, complimenting my gun. It gets even worse when I bring a flintlock I make.

    Shooting the 1849 Colt Pocket

Unfortunately, it seems each gun is a different animal. This one is easily a foot and a half high so I was struggling to hit that 8 inch steel plate at 25 yards.

    Shooting the 1849 Colt Pocket

I took my 1849 Colt out to the range. Needless to say, it was fun. http://mark3smle.com/2016/03/05/shooting-the-colt-1849-pocket-revolver/

    Tulle aka: Fusil De Chase

It ain't a trade gun, but a hunting musket built for those who needed a gun in the colonies. Inferior rejects were often given to natives, though. The gun definitely is not a cheek buster. The stock design basically rolls past your cheek under recoil. Probably the most pleasant gun I ever shot...

    Round balls in .31-caliber revolvers?

Nah. .330 would be too much stress on the loading lever and with all the accessories needed to load it with a dedicated loading stand, whats the point of owning the dang thing? I prefer .319 diameter balls myself. I think .323 would be the biggest I'd go with.

    Hardening and Tempering Flintlock Frizzens

Hardening and Tempering Flintlock Frizzens I put together this video to talk about frizzens. Most of yall have a certain way of doing it, I have mine. Just hope the video can be helpful to new comers.

    Traditions Crockett 32 cal Pistol

Try a .310 in round ball. Thin .010 patching material of your choice and 15 grains of powder.

Traditions Trapper Pistol vs. Lyman Plains Pistol?

I refinished a Plains pistol and its very high quality. The sights are blocky but its a nice weapon and somewhat more historically accurate than the trapper. For my money, Id rather make me a custom instead.

    Backwoodsman's Caliber?

Id go between 50-60. Bear and hostile natives were still around at the time. After the Revolution with the dangerous stuff pushed further west, rifles became more ornate and lighter in caliber.
