Hey All, Looking for a Lyman GPP in .50, but will also consider .54. Bore needs to be good, a little wear and tear is OK, if its honest wear. Pictures and pricing? Than You.

    Lyman Great Plains Pistol

Just to add, I posted before I read the rules, my mistake! I tried to edit out the "Paypal" part of it but could not. My fault for skipping over the rules, "My apologies" to the Forum. Won't make that mistake again............

    Lyman Great Plains Pistol

Mods please close this. I found one locally, 54 and a bit of a dog but we shall see. I want to thank Woodnbow and Crow Beads for responding to my request. If this shoots as bad as it looks, I may yet need one of these yet. Price was fair and I have lots of time to tinker. Thank You All.........

GPR Nipple hard to remove after Firing

Zonie Good points to consider, I will look at it to see if they are the problem. I made a trip to Buffalo Arms awile back to load up on supplies. The Ampco Nipples were highly recommended by people in the shop. This was a like new GPR I got at a show and have not used anything but the Ampco's...

GPR Nipple hard to remove after Firing

After terrorizing a few targets today,I came home to clean, Nipple was really stuck. Put it in some soapy water and ran a patch a few times. At that point I could have removed it with fingers. Thanks all who helped on this......... So much to know and learn.

GPR Nipple hard to remove after Firing

John., Gorilla Grease, applied with fingers, threads only. The Torque story was an aside, I clearly stated that I screwed in the clean out screw till I touched the Nipple, then backed it out 1 full turn. The logic that I followed from Brown Bear was, maybe it was too close and the fouling was...

GPR Nipple hard to remove after Firing

John, If you would have read my first post you would have seen where I said I "USED ANTI SEIZE" I did not post here to get dressed down. The friend I referred to builds Top Fuel Funny Cars and it is his way of "lightning things up". Something that seems to have been missed by some.

GPR Nipple hard to remove after Firing

Pulled clean out screw,5 turn to remove, cleaned and hit it with blue locktite, ran it in all the way. About 5 1/4 turns, then backed it out a full turn. Short story about torque, I have a friend that is a machinist, and he is fond of saying "Tighten it down till it strips then back it off a...

GPR Nipple hard to remove after Firing

First of many "Norman Newguy" questions. After firing "Ol Grizz", my 50 GPR the nipple is hard to remove. Yes I use anti seize and I never have this problem with my T.C. When I reinstall it,it glides in with finger pressure, same as the T.C. Using Ampco nipples from Buffalo Arms, suppose to be...
