    After researching C Bird Co, It was a lock making Co in Philadelphia from 1812 to 1820 and their locks were used on the Kentucky rifle. The lock looks similar to the one found on the CVA Mountain rifle.

    A WWII vet told me to use a wooden match or candle to blacken both the front and rear sights. The soot from either removes all the glare.
