    The Space Cowboy

Saw this earlier this morning, thought others may want to admire it. The Space Cowboy Maybe not a practical shooter, not historically correct, and not in most people’s price range, but it’s a nice looking piece of artwork.

    Real black powder

Had to laugh at the sniper in NM. He may have last year, but this year he’ll be doing it with iron sights for the ML only season! 😂. Rules were changed and if it has a new fangled telescopic sight, it can only be used in the modern rifle season.

    ---HELP ----Mildew starting on tent

I was recently gifted a canvas tent. It was pretty nasty with a rust colored mold. Cleaned it up with a mild Clorox solution (1% or less) and sunshine. My question now is what to put on the tent to make it water resistant. Went hunting and luckily only had rain the last day. Needless to say...

Do you prefer 3F or 4F for priming ?

I’ve used both 3f and 4f as priming powder. This is a pic of the 4f I make for priming and 2f in the barrel. The 4f is noticeably quicker when I’m shooting. Have not tried 2f to prime

    Ballistol

Smells like cat $hit to me. I tried it as a patch lube, wasn’t really impressed.

What is the strangest old timey vegetable you have eaten

If anyone down in the SE US knows what rattlesnake weed is, give it a try. It's has a starchy tuber, which somewhat resembles a rattlesnakes tail. I put some in a batch of saurkraut once, dang it was good!

All my draw tags are in. Wish me luck

I got all my info and $$$ sent in to CO for an elk hunt, let's just hope the rest of the guys in our group did too! Now time to wait to see if we get drawn. +1 on the workout routine. This low lander needs lots of tuning up to be able to handle the high Rockies.

    My .30 Cal (pic heavy)

I will have to get some target pics next time I take it out. First time without knowing anything about where it would shoot it did pretty good. Shot 2 inches high and 2-3 right with 24gr FFFg @ 25yds. A few slight taps and it shoot 2 high and dead center. Groups about 1 inch, but I think...

    My .30 Cal (pic heavy)

Thanks for the replies everyone. It makes me happy to know there are others who also appreciate this gun as much as I do. The pitting did not worry me much. The lighting in the picture exaggerates it a bit. My concerns with cutting it down a few inches are this; I am not aware of a competent...

    My .30 Cal (pic heavy)

A buddy of mine found this jewel in a LGS and paid $100 for it. The better part is that I liked it so much he gave it to me. It came with a mold we believe to be original which throws a .30 cal round ball. They are not perfectly round, and show flaws from the mold. This thing shoots like a...
