¿Dumb question about Kibler flintlocks and WTS listings on this site?

I bought a Kibler Colonial that Mike Brooks dolled up. It was a nice well balanced .58 cal., but someone wanted it more than I did. Then the Woodsrunner came out and I ordered one to see how easy they were to assemble. Mostly a metal polishing exercise. I wasn't trying to make money so I...

FOR SALE Hoyt .62cal. Jaeger barrel.

If there is no interest, I have two more stocks. This time I'll send the barrel and wood off to be properly inletted and build one myself. I have visions of a .62cal. poorboy jaeger sort of thing. Might try this one with a side grinder ala Jack Garner. He built many a rifle with a side...

SPECIAL SELECT MAPLE Kibler Kits Move quickly!!!

I worked in a paper mill with all the overtime I wanted for 27yrs. Every time we got a new contract I raised my 401k deduction by half the pay raise until I was up to 20% deduction of my weekly before taxes pay. Overtime covered the deductions. Now I have a worry-free retirement income but...

Found a rifle in the mail!

We were DEW. The mission was to extend the land-based radar in the early days, but missiles made that irrelevant for the continental US. Then it changed to TDYs into conflict zones to look for the bad guys and, if needed, vector fighters to them. We also carried radio intercept intel guys...

Found a rifle in the mail!

Auctions are a gamble, but not too bad a deal for the cost of a Kibler colonial and an afternoon in the shop.

Finally took some more pictures. Part of the buy was a nice blanket lined leather case.

Found a rifle in the mail!

50yds. benched. .526 ball with 85gr. 2F. I always shoot at 50. Any rifle will shoot a cloverleaf at 25yds. I use the tape cross because it gives a good sighting reference both axes. More pics. The top picture is the new, correct hammer and bottom picture is the old one from a standard...

Found a rifle in the mail!

Just got this one from t he bargain basement. .54cal. 44" Getz barrel. Signed SRB. No idea who that is, but after a little work, it is a nice rifle. Probably from the 80s or 90s. I replaced the two front barrel pins where some yoyo had used finishing nails to try to replace the 1/16"...

    Kibler SMR All in-the-white?

I prefer polishing then cold bluing. It will wear off to a blue gray. Brass black that is rubbed back will also work.

    Lock Tuner Info requested

Polish everything that rubs together. Flush the abrasive out. Lubricate it(I use lightweight lithium grease. Oil will get in the wood) and use it. I use musket flints in my big Kibler lock to raise the flint a little. They hang out to the side a little but work fine.

FOR SALE Hoyt .62cal. Jaeger barrel.

This is a project I quit on. I wanted to inlet barrel just to learn how. It went well until the ramrod hole ran out too far. Since the wood was free I sawed it in half and will sell the barrel. It is a Hoyt .62cal. 31" barrel. Hoyt cut the dovetails before he sold it. I cut some of the...

    Patchbox on Kibler Woodsrunner

If you look at the latch end of the spring, you will see that there is a little shelf where the machining didn't cut the metal down to match the rest of the latching surface. That little bit of extra metal stops the latch from snugly catching the edge of the buttplate. File that little shelf...

weight of trigger pull on a Kibler Woodsrunner

    Flintlock Rifle Flash Hole Placement

Hard to tell without a picture but the vent location isn't all that critical. Have you tried it or are you crying before you are hit. Just don't fill the pan up all the way. In today's market that is exactly what you can expect from a $600 Italian/Spanish flintlock.
