Harbor Freight Tools "Digital Inspection Camera" as a Bore Scope

I bought one of the Centech cameras about a year ago from HF..i think it was 69.00 then. I got it for checking out some plumbing in walls but have found it handy for other purposes..it has worked great..only thing is that the camera head on mine is almost 3\4" across and is useless as a bore...

    .38 Flintlock?

Thanks so much for the interest and thoughts MD, all sounds about right with what i was thinking but in the end will always be a "mystery" rifle probably, fun stuff to ponder though. I'm not sure yet what caused the lock to stop cocking properly but it has to involve the wood needing some...

    .38 Flintlock?

Yup your exactly right Mountain Dewd, just a hole drilled through the barrel for the vent.. I have no real knowledge concerning antique muzzleloaders but in side by comparisons with a few known antiques i can't tell much of a difference..if its a modern barrel i can't tell nor see a sign. If...

    .38 Flintlock?

Ok, no luck with that, but was worth a try. Anyhow, i appreciate everyones interest\comments and will follow through with a good cleanup and will attempt to get the wood gone thats hanging up the works.. will send this barrel off to Mr. Hoyt for a rebore in all likelyhood. Or sleeved for a...

    .38 Flintlock?

Hey Thanks Fellas for all the replies  Ya'll are right, as was my buddy who suggested it was just rusted out. I looked close with a good light and i do see traces of the old rifling..indeed, she'll need a bit of work...most likely a rebore. Heres a couple more pics..really...

    .38 Flintlock?

Anyone ever heard of a .38 smoothbored flintlock? A friend forwarded this rifle to me when it came up for sale on an online auction site and i ended up winning it fairly inexpensively. Recieved it today and am a loss for what it is and thought i'd post and see if anyone had any thoughts on...

    What is this Stock finish?

Beautiful pics Spence and good point about the varying light and changing appearence of the stain and wood. I went and shot another pic outside in the sun and this gives a better idea of the color i think. Thanks for posting and wow does your camera take better pics than mine!

    SturdyTradition pocket knife

I agree completely. Almost lost a finger once to a lockblade that didn't lock..and have sliced myself more than once with swiss army type knives that closed while using them. Tried to learn from those early mistakes and haven't cut myself in many years now but i use good quality locking blades...
