    Smoothbore newbie silly question

OK guys I have only had experience with rifled muzzleloader's but have been bitten by the smoothbore bug. Maybe a silly question but can I get a smoothbore in a .62 cal that has a fully octagon barrel instead of the round or octagon to round barrel that I see on all of them?

    Turkey Gun

I have a couple extra dollars to spend so I am looking at having a .62 cal smoothy built to turkey hunt with. If you could choose between only 3 gun builders who would make the short list for building a custom smoothbore for turkey hunting?

Trying to figure this whole thing out

Thanks for the information fellas. I think I have it figured out to at least be able to kill an old ridge runnin gobbler out to 20 yrds and I guess you can't ask for anything better. I hope to find out in the morning. Seems to be shooting pretty well with 70 grains 2f 2 thin cards over that turn...

Trying to figure this whole thing out

Just bought a real nice 12 gauge smooth bore side by side caplock. The guy said he always shot the plastic shot cups in it. I tried and got terribly inconsistent patterns. Did away with the plastic shot cups and instantly got better results. My question is, I only have the thin over powder and...

    Annual debate

I like the no hunters left behind guns comment, that's funny. I would add that we have a No Hunters Left Behind season here in Mo now. Where we dumb down the process and cheapen the experience to accommodate those who are unwilling to apply themselves enough to do it the right way!

Are there any Missouri Hunters Out There?

Yeah, MDC really dropped the ball with this. As they have with so many issues in the last few years. We don't need more hunters, we need better hunters, period. If in the end that equates to more hunters then great. Economics be danged!!!! It is a well known fact that they are going to shove...

    Missouri Muzzle loader season

Rumor has it we will have crossbows in archery season next year. They are killing the romance that used to be associated with primitive seasons. And eroding the ethics of what should otherwise be a noble pursuit. :idunno: Makes me sad.

    SC deer season

This was my concern with my original post. I don't think that any resource can sustain unlimited amounts of over harvest without long term negative effects. We have been seeing a unconcerned, a very liberal approach the the deer harvest hear in Mo. for several years. If you talk to most...

Maybe you all have a lot better habitat than us. All I can say is I am green with envy. Sounds like you all have a blast. :)
