    I have a Moon Glow pear tree that is loaded with pears this year. Have so many have to prop up the limbs. Had one limb to break that was heavy with pears. First time in 7 years the frost didn't get the blooms.

    I always put my extra seed in the freezer during the winter. Never had any trouble the next year with seed coming up. We had a good growing season this year. I have been eating sweet corn on the cob and lots fresh tomatoes.

    Farmers markets here are loaded with fresh vegetables. This has been a good growing season for us in South West Va. Rain at the right time with lots warm weather. I see those people in Texas are having a very hot summer. Hard to grow stuff in that kind of weather.

    Tomatoes now getting ripe. Plenty of cucumbers. Corn be ready in about another week. Going to be a good year in South West Va.

    It's usually the 4th of July when our tomatoes are ripe. I have a sweet pear tree that has lots of pears this year. They usually get killed by late frost and freezes. Have lots of grapes on my grape vein this year.

    We got a good rain day before yesterday. It was getting awful dry. I put some epsom salts around my tomato plants yesterday. This should perk them up.

    That is a nice looking horn. I agree with Tim that getting the book of "The Engraved Powder Horn" would give you lots of ideas for your horns. It's one the best books in my collection of books.

    This heat wave we are having is taking a toll on my few plants I have out. Having two water twice a day now. Glad I don't have many plants set out this year. 95 degrees today. Its usually July before we get heat like this. I have tomato's setting on now. South West Va reminds me of Texas today.

    I found a receipt where I bought a case of number 11 magnum caps for $50.00. $5.00 a tin. I bought 25 lbs of mixed Goex powder for $18.00 dollars a lb. This over pricing Will not go away as long as customers pay the price.
