    Jammed Mechanism on M1861 Musket

I would let the entire lock soak for a week in kerosene, or whatever your choice of solvent is then carefully, don't bugger up the screws, pull it all apart. Being a mechanically minded man you will find that all is revealed. Clean up any rust however you like to do it. If any thing is broken...

    .54 Conical Mold

Depends what you want to do with it, for punching paper the REAL works a treat for me.

    Unmentionables

Which is why the club shoots I run are called Black Powder. The rule is; the gun must have been designed during the black powder era, and specifically to use only black powder. Substitute powder may be used with the permission of the RO Only naked, or patched, cloth or paper, lead projectiles...

To quote an Australian folk song. We camp in huts without any doors' We sleep upon the dirty floors, With a pannican of flour and a sheet of bark, Wollop up a damper in the dark. A pannican is a one pint enameled mug. Wollop: In this case to knead and fold. Damper: flour water and a pinch of...

    Wad use with prb

I used thick felt wads until I discovered corn meal. I experienced a marked improvement in accuracy. I don't really care why it works for me, I just know it does, and that's enough for me.

I posted this story in the pistol forum previously, so here goes. Just a note: You don't get a damn thing in Australia for $150. $150 for this navy arms revolver.😄 The guy I was shooting with on the weekend was spittin and cursing at this revolver when he had yet another cap jam. He is a very...

    First time casting

I became so frustrated with mine that I took the guts out, blocked up the spout with a tech screw and used a dipper. But---I'm a very impatient man. There may very well be an answer that I don't know.

    What nipple wrench to get

I can't afford to waste money getting things that I don't then like. So, what is the best nipple wrench for the 1851 Pietta .36. Note; this is my first revolver, so I don't know nuthin.

What got you interested in flintlocks?

I undertook to establish black powder at our club which shoots a wide variety of firearms. I shot ML rifles myself but had never shot a BP pistol in my life. So, here I was running black powder pistol shoots and I didn't have a clue. I had to get myself a pistol. In a momentary brain fart:doh: I...
