    Question about making wad

I looked at ebay but with shipping yours still in the $16-20 range. Maybe after Christmas the demand might come down. I did find some a harbor freight http://www.harborfreight.com/9-piece-hollow-punch-set-3838.html The 3/8 should work for 36 but the 7/16 might be to small for the 44.

    Question about making wad

I am thinking about making my own wads for my cap n ball revolvers. But to looking at punches they run $20-30 each. I know they should last me for ever but for $30 I could buy a lot of premade wads. So I'm thinking of a cheaper way. Anyone use brass cases from modern ammo for a punch? A 45...

    1851 Confederate Navy .44

I have a few Pietta they are very well made. As others have said keep the charge under 25 grains and it will last you years. I know a lot of people don't like the brass frames but they will last a long time. I would guess 99% of us will only ever shoot paper or steel targets so you don't need...

    Black Powder Revolver?

Very nice looking pistol. They are addicting I have a few I haven't even shot yet. But still thinking I need to get one of each of the revolvers and build a kit rifle. I haven't sold any modern rifles but I can say they have taken a back seat to black powder I really enjoy them.

    CVA Hawkins 50 cal

I did read up on the history of the Hawken rifle and how they made each gun by hand. I know they will never be mistaken for a real hawken rifle.

    CVA Hawkins 50 cal

Anyone know how close the cva to the true hawken rifle? Thinking maybe something to hang on the wall also.

    CVA Hawkins 50 cal

Passed on the rifle. He wouldn't move on the price and my gut said to wait. I will go back in a week or so and see what he says then. I bought some cap and ball pistols from them a week or so ago and they had sit there for months.

    CVA Hawkins 50 cal

Thanks everyone I am going back right after work today and see if I can pick it up. I carry a flash light with me and I looked down the barrel it was clean all the way no rust and I didn't see any pitting but it was a quick look. Didn't think about it being loaded when I was looking down the...

Thanks Can't do a full cleaning or anything right now I am at work. But did some searches and found out how to take it all apart. Took out the cylinder for inspection. I don't think it has every been fired. I'm seeing no rust or discolor in the cylinder or barrel and very little wear on the...
