    Earl Kathan

I wanna give credit where it's do. Earl did the following work in less than a week: Reworked the nose of the frizzen for better roll-over. Reworked the angle on the frizzen face for better strike against the face of the frizzen. Smoothed and rehardened the frizzen face. Reworked the tumbler...

    Firearms appraisel

I think most of the people that enter that shop don't have a lot of time to get the money. Vito is waiting around the corner!

    Firearms appraisel

You can bet you won't get an inflated value from Rick. Most of the guns he gets in there I'd buy it for much more.

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

I've done extensive internet search and came up with a handful of parts suppliers but I really need a replacement barrel band and side plate for this pistol. Can be a repro. Anybody have any suggestions? S&S and Dixie had some parts but not these.

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

My thinking exactly on this project. The lock parts that S&S didn't have I found at Dixie. If needed I'll change all the parts to make it a shooter. Do I need to remove the breech plug to hone the barrel?

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

I've been wondering about how to bend that trigger guard. Its so obviously bent, I'll need o do something. Don't know how complete the lock is. Dixie carries a lot of the springs and other parts. Already ordered the hammer, ramrod and replacement screws from S&S. It'll be just plain amazing to...

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

This one needs a lot but I didn't pay much for it. Gonna have to be a lot of repro parts.

    Sharpe Flintlock

    Never mind, I missed it.

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

Probably gonna commit some cardinal sins. I want a gun that looks good and shoots good.

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

Just won my pistol in auction! Can't wait to fix it up and shoot it!!!

    Sharpe Flintlock

I found a flintlock lock and all it says on it is "Sharpe" and no other markings. It looks like it might be old.

    Sharpe Flintlock

Anybody ever hear of these flintlocks? Was there ever reproductions of the locks made?

Found this guy on the internet to fix my flintlock. Anybody ever had any dealings with him?

.36 Uberti Colt Pocket Navy Revolver

I bought a Pietta Pocket Remington Revolver, Brass Frame from Dixie. As soon as it arrived I had to order a new hammer as it wasn't striking the nipples properly. I still need to turn down the nipples so they will fit the #10 caps I use on all my other revolvers. Good luck with the Colt.

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

I want to apologize for my topic title. I copied and pasted the ignorant sellers description without looking at it. It is an H. Aston pistol, not a Haston pistol. These guys have no idea what they sell.

    Shooting time

The back seat and bed of my F-250 crew cab is filled with shooting supplies. When I can get to the range I just enjoy the mechanics and challenge of shooting these old guns. I don't focus on how tight my pattern is or how historically correct I am. I use wads in my revolvers instead of grease or...

    New flintlock

The gun works good when I get spark. I got a bull's-eye at 25 yards and the gun has no sights. So it's definitely a working model. I installed a German Agate flint I got from Dixie and I'm getting the best spark yet. However, I can see some major differences between this gun's lock and...

    New flintlock

Here's the flint making contact with the frizzen. It seems to me it should be contacting farther up the frizzen. What you guys think?

    Model 1842 Haston Pistol

S&S has the just the parts I need. Thanks. Now its all up to what happens in the auction.

    New flintlock

The flint contacts the frizzen about 3/4 up the frizzen. I've tried new flints, various flint angles and distance from the frizzen. I'm reluctant to bend the hammer as it appears to be cheap pot metal that has been chromed. What should be proper angle for the flint to contact the frizzen? By...
