    Green Mountain T/C Replacement Barrel

My hunting buddy had this same operation done by Mr. Hoyt, 50 cal rebored to a 54 i in 66 rot. His rifle shoots great, I tell him to shoot less powder like start at 60gr, try 3 F etc. He insists on 80 so he don't need to make a new powder measurer. Even in an overloaded gun it shoots well...

    Cva prospector pistol

glad I got some info. I will need to buy a new mould if I keep it, Im considering taking some of the BP arms I have in excess to trade in order to get a flintlock since I will be coaching black powder in our 4 H club. I want to keep it diverse and educational. As a side note I think this...

    Cva prospector pistol

In Illinois I have. A 72 hour wait on any firearm BP included. I will be teaching BP at the range for my sons 4 h club in spring and fall. In addition to air rifle. I thought it would mak an interesting addition as it has a cowboy like grip.

    Cva prospector pistol

Not sure if this pistol is ok to talk about here it’s a copy of a tingle pistol. based on the construction of this pistol if so please remove this. I came across the prospector pistol for 70.00 in great shape, has a great trigger. Wondering where to track down a manual, etc.

    Good Source For Range Rod?

Years ago I bought a nice one from Cain’s solid brass makes loading a breeze. I also bought several from a forum member of brass tubing second hand. Great in the stand. Plastic type can snap in our really cold weather up here.

    Converting percussion to flint?

Considering the barrels I have figure the breaches at 35 each. A good lock aftermarket for sure 200 And an hour or two each barrel that puts me about 800 parts and labor for a rifle that can shoot 32 cal, 54 cal or 62 ball or shot. I think I'll try out some stylings of different rifles and see...

HC Meaning historically correct would mean a motorcycle ride up to Pecatonica River may happen.

    Converting percussion to flint?

I'm very cheap just ask my wife. Over the last 15 years I've accumulated 10 muzzleloaders all bought/swapped for right but am itching to liquidate and consolidate some in order to get into flintlocks. Namely I have a 1" 54 cal tc kit hawken with 2 green mountain barrels to boot. 32 cal and...

    Question concerning 54 Cal.

its why we cast I was told there was some ballistic equation where 54 cal edged out 50 and 45 on the range. Definitely in hunting. On whitetails the round ball knocks them down as well or better than conicals. I enjoy the PRB more than the conicals no real lead contact in the barrel.

    Tennessee Valley Muzzleloading

I was looking for a 32 cal flintlock for practice really, they are cheaper to shoot. figure casting maxi balls and round balls, 15-25 gr of 3f is cheaper that the 60 + in the big guns. The only barrel I found was a rice barrel but I don't think TVM sells guns with Rice Barrels, I may have...

    rotiseree Christmas goat

low and slow with hickory smoke and the right marinade and or sauce would make a boot taste good.

    .32 what to do

the forementioned load works good in the crockett pistol. I have an IBS 32 by green mountain on a 54 hawken stock, heavy but points good. The crockett rifle was my first choice but 125 for the barrel and 175 for the hawken made the choice for me.

    rotiseree Christmas goat

thanks for finding the photo it was awesome I think the garlic olive oil and rosemary based rub was what does it. The carcass we simmered into broth and the meat that fell off was turned into "Itlian beef style" sandwiches. I will be doing this every Christmass If I can. I need to get a spit...

At least one big racked buck made it...

I did see a heavy beamed big bodied buck in October during bow, wrong side of a fence at 25 yards. He was shoulder shot that day by another hunter but lived. As seen by trail cam. He was rubbing trees when I saw him that day he did not even run off the forkhorn near him. I am going to secure...
