    Bullet casting/sizing advice welcome...

I've been condemned here for saying this previously but here I go again. Fine steel wool wrapped around the jag. If leading is bad you will see it in the steel wool. Keep at it until there's no more showing. No lube or "solvent". I got this from Scheutzen competitors and BPCR shooters at my...

    Bullet casting/sizing advice welcome...

That's a lot of wiping! Could you be dealing with a rough bore? Could you have leading in the bore? I had a 50 that was used to shoot maxi balls and they were a very tight fit. I ended up pushing them base first into a lee 501 sizer but without going all the way through so that the front...

    Ramrod question...

I like to size my rods so that with the jag on it the length is even with the muzzle. This way it's ready to wipe with for repeat shots when not at the bench. If the jag extends beyond the muzzle it interferes will cutting at the Muzzle and using a loading block. My systems are all oriented...

    Pecatonica update

Yes, I'm happy to see the improvement. And, even though they seem to welcome phone calls, and even though some are necessary, some can be avoided with up to date information and the catalog. A benefit for buyer and seller.

    Elk calling

It's going to be here soon, even though it doesn't feel like it. 🙃 What are your thoughts and experiences on calling elk. I've had some success but I'm curious about the methods and techniques of others.

Study: Hunters Die After Consuming CWD-Infected Venison

So I got thinking about this. As much untested venison as I've eaten from Colorado I will eventually fit this definition "Hunters Die After Consuming CWD-Infected Venison". 🤣

    Light hunting rifle, straight stock?

@The Crisco Kid Did you go with the early or late Lancaster?

    Light hunting rifle, straight stock?

I'm thinking of something along those same lines with a Rice 62 barrel. I need light weight and 62 will never be too little gun in elk country! 😀

How do you stabilise your rifle for load testing/sighting in?

"We shouldn't do that anymore." It looked real bad but with some effort I reduced it to a mild brown spot. The shot did obtain a nice little forkie. Shot was taken from a forest service road that was no place for a Torino!!

    I have this barrel.🤔

It's not really clear here but if the rifle is breeched CVA style you might be able to pull the drum and install a vent. If all you are missing is the stock you can probably get a replacement. I suspect it is a CVA Kentucky model. If you put up a picture of the rest of the parts it could be...

It's also pretty ugly on a white vinyl roof. 😔

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Some predators will make a kill and carry it off and eat it later. I jumped a sleeping coyote early one frosty morning. The yote jumped to it's feet ducked it's head down, picked up a dead rabbit 🐇 and took off. The frosty ground showed the spot where the yote slept and the spot where the...
