    Using a smaller Minie ball.

I'd like to use my Lee mold to cast original Minie balls as right now I'm using the Lee improved ball which is .578 and the other mold is .575 for a P53 I used to have. That's too small for my .58 cal. Is there a way I can use the .575 by wrapping it? Lee doesn't make a .578 original ball mold...

    Need help with revolver.

The problem is with my Dance Brothers revolver by Pietta. The barrel wedge if tapped in like it should be will not let it be fully cocked so I have to leave the wedge barely making contact with the RH side of barrel. Should I file the wedge down a bit? Not sure if that's the fix, don't want to...

    Pietta parts and fitting.

I ordered extra parts that I know will be the 1st to fail on my new Dance Brothers revolver. The bolt is the only part that won't fit properly. Tried some file work comparing to the one that came with it but no luck. I've heard it's a common problem with new parts. Can't understand why they come...

    Bought another cap'n' ball

Just bought another revolver. I've had 2 Pietta Remingtons and an 1851 Navy over the years and figured I'm done with these. Guess the bug was too strong, they're the only handgun that's really fun for me so I bought a J.H Dance and Brothers. May look a bit weird without any recoil shields but to...

    Minie ball lube.

I used to use Lee Liquid Alox when casting for .308 and .303 Brit. Just wondering if it would also work for lead Minie's. Has anyone ever tried it? Would be less messy for sure. Thanks

    Repro 1863 Remington "Zouave" problem.

So went to the range today to try out new sight picture. Got 3 shots off then downhill from there. Cocking the hammer back then squeezing the trigger the hammer stops short of the nipple. The lock is working as it should outside the rifle but not inside. I had the same sort of trouble in the...

    Sight replacment

Last March I picked up an Armi Jager 1863 Remington repro. Made in 1975 I doubt it was fired at all or very little. Someone had put red loctite on the nipple so that was fun. The original sights were not meant for my old eyes so I removed them, had to grind them off, God knows what they used...

    Armi Jager Remington repro

Been a long time. Anyhow I could use some advice. Picked up an Armi Jager Remington contract rifle, hate using the term "Zouave", 1975 date code and really nice shape. Using a .575 Minie from a Lee mold. Balls go all over the place. I'm thinking that a .578 ball might work, or a .575 patched RB...

    Pedersoli Enfield

I just bought the fairly new Pedersoli 3 band Enfield. It's a beautiful rifle but haven't shot it yet as I'm up to my armpits in snow. It's .577 Cal. and I made some .575 minie balls from a lee mold. The twist is 1-78 so may get a RB mold also. My question is has anyone tried the rifle yet...

    New guy from Quebec

Hello all. Being a big fan of muzzleloaders and firearms in general this looks like a good place for me. Also a good place to learn new things and meet those with the same interest's.
