Looking for bayonet and cartridge box (p1853)

Hello the camp! I'm trying to find a nice bayonet to fit my Armi Sport P1853 Enfield, I found several Enfield bayonets but they do not say if they fit the Armi Sport replica, anyone know if that matters or if I need a specific bayonet? If so know where I could get one? I'm also on the prowl for...

    Eastern Eurpean BP gun(s) availability?

So here is an unusual question, how hard is it to get a repro of a BP musket or rifle that was used by eastern european armies? I can't seem to find any. Btw by "eastern european" I mean countries like Russia, Poland, Hungary, Austria, etc. I don't know to much about that part of the world, but...

Well now I got a stuck ball....

I take it this is what the Doctor ordered? CO2 Load Discharger kit New to guns, new to muzzleloaders. Probably won't use a ball puller in the future if (God forbid) I load a dry ball at the range. I'd rather use one of these or the remove nipple - insert powder - replace nipple - fire - method.

Well now I got a stuck ball....

So I don't know where my brain was, but here is the story. I placed a .440 ball over some pillow ticking at the muzzle of my .45 caplock to try to see how much pillow ticking I would need to make a pattern in order to cut some pre-cut patches. Well I tapped the ball in gently, then it got stuck...

Anyone have experience with MTVCo's Fishtail Fowler?

I'm wanting a English Civil War gun, I don't have the budget or patience to get one made from Leonard Day or someone else. I know India guns get a lot of flak by some, praise from others, and that it's not 100% historically accurate, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience (good or bad)...

    Brown Bess Carbine

Alden, I have read a lot about Indian guns, can't form an honest opinion myself as I have never seen/shot one in person. I guess if (going by your opinion on these guns) I want to collect reasonably "hc" muskets and rifles I better be ready to spend $900+ per gun. Comes with the territory I...

    Brown Bess Carbine

So what your saying is, something like this may or may not have been seen in the 18th century? (Ranger Musket from MVTCo, just as a reference)

    Black powder storage?

Thanks everyone, I'm a newbie so I appreciate the help. I'll probably keep it in my closet, it's not very small and the powder should be at a constant cool temperature.

    Black powder storage?

Hi folks, I'm new to the hobby, and before I buy some BP I was wondering how I should store it? My folks have a garage 20-30 yards from the house, but will the temperature change during the year affect the powder at all? I was wondering if I store it in the house, should I buy a fireproof safe...

    How many grains per pound?

Hi folks, newbie here How many grains of BP are in a one pound can? I'm looking at Goex FFG. I'm getting my muzzleloading gear so I can go shooting after this mini ice age is over, and I'm trying to figure out how much I should buy. I'm thinking of taking whatever the total grains are per pound...

    Japanese matchlocks?

Are replicas of Japanese Matchlocks available out there? I saw one by Dixie Gun, but they don't make it anymore. Is there a chance they are made by someone else out there?
