    Sharon Rifle Barrel Co.

I bought one of those Sharon kits way back then. It was a .54 cal half stock percussion rifle. Like a fool I eventually let it go. Building it wasn't the easiest. Especially casting the pewter nose cap following their instructions. But when done right they are very nice rifles. I wish I...

    Upgraded my TC Hawken

Very nice. Its your rifle done up they way you like. It doesn't matter whether it's authentic looking or no longer looks like a TC. Go out and have fun with it!

    TC Hawken .54

Yes, a .54 with a round ball is certainly adequate for both elk and bear, the bear being the easier of the two. Marmotslayer pretty much told it like it is.

    Custom Hawken

LOL I've been told flintlock shooting is terminal. -------------------------------------------------- I looked at the Hawken Shop kits. I'm not interested in another kit - been there. I didn't intent to unleash an authentic Hawken Jihad. I'm merely looking for a "modern...

    Custom Hawken

Thanks - yes I haven't exactly decided on the style though I do have a hankering for a full stock flinter. I've never owned a flintlock before. None of this is cast in stone I wanted to get a few leads on builders, get their opinions and go from there. I really appreciate all the advice.

    Custom Hawken

Thanks guys for the leads. I've wanted to do this for a long time and now seems right.

    Custom Hawken

OK, I've gone the TC route and the Lyman GPR version, now I would really like a custom made Hawken made by someone who really knows what they're doing. So my questions is who would you suggest I look at for the rifle of my dreams?

    TC Hawken 50 cal 1-48

Ron, I'm not sure what your picture is showing in regards to TC bullets other then it hasn't been cast correctly. I've never seen any brand of cast bullet that hasn't occasionly had one in the box. There are some good responses here, I guess if it was me I would buy several of the...

    Another new guy

Like few others here, I started shooting muzzleloaders when they were all the rage in the 1970's. I even know people who could recite every line in the movie Jeremiah Johnson! I started bow hunting in the late 60's doing what is now called traditional archery, never could warm up to those...
