Replacement sights for a Lyman GPR...

I shoot targets with mine so I have done this with both of the barrels that I have for my GPR. I made the rear sight slot wider so I could see the space on both sides of the front sight better. This works fine for me as I have learned to shoot a 6 o:clock hold over the years. What little...

    GPR Accuracy?

I found most of this information to be right on. I have a 50 and 54 barrel for my GPR they both shoot very well. They smoothed up pretty fast but then again I enjoy shooting the GPR. I thought that I would add a couple of things. using the instructions that came with I snugged the pin slots to...

which shoots flatter at a 100yds.

I have both and you can get higher velocity with the 54 thus it shoots a little flatter. The energy may be about equal but I find myself shooting the 54 more. I would be comfortable with either at normal MLR hunting ranges. Geo. T.

    need advice on trade offer

I am pleased that no one turned up their nose on the value of a modern firearm. I also agree that with their assessment of the trade. At times you can find a good flintlock that someone is not using pretty darned reasonable. Few shooters can not tell of a firearm traded away way to cheap...

    Shooting/Safety Glasses While Hunting

I to make sure that my prescription eye wear has impact resistant lenses and UV block. I had a right side take a real hit once when shooting a cap lock. I can assure you that the eye would have been badly damaged at best. To this day I don't know what it was. The nipple was fine as was the...

Considering reboring Pedersoli RMH to .58

Just for conversation have you thought about a 54? I let several posts talk me into a 58 and the darned thing just loves 110 grains of 2F. It is a hand full but my 54 will shoot light and heavy loads well. I might add that the tables show that the 54 holds up better past 75 yards, Geop. T.

    Dangerous mass produced muzzleloaders

The steel quality in modern times is much better and if you use black powder you should not have problems. The company you named makes Howa , Weatherby ,Charles Daley and Browning over and unders as well as Winchesters. They also made the Jonathan Browning mountain rifles. If they ever made...

    unusual stuck ball

For the unloader to work you need to seat the ball. With that much void to fill it will never work. Look up how to use a grease gun if wetting the patch with soapy water wont let you seat it. Geo. T.

    JB Bore Paste

It wont hurt a barrel but I'm not sure it does much good. I have used it to remove copper in modern firearms. There are better things for that also. Geo. T.

    Which to buy?

I have a Lyman GPR and love it. I also have an Investarms in 58 that looks just like this rifle. It is a little cheaper and looks like a good starter. Geo. T.

    Rusty bore Fix

Well being a firm believer in PB-BLASTER I would swab the bore with it twice a day for three or four days and run several tight patches between swabs. You will be surprised how much smoother the bore will be. My guess is that if you need steel wool and other measures you just might have a tomato...
