Baker .40 cal 1/2 stock value

I will go back with a flashlight or bore light , and take a better look. Any Idea if it’s worth 500. The lock seems solid, nipple is loose, very little corrosion I can see, but the barrel needs to be investigated.

Baker .40 cal 1/2 stock value

Saw this nice Baker rifle at local antique shop. Back action lock marked Baker. Ornate with a unique peep sight on the tang. Looks to be around .40 cal. Shop wants over $500. but I know I could get it for less. Did not have a bore light with me, but next trip I will have one. Anyone familiar...

    Acra glas solvent/thinner

Acraglas is an epoxy, correct? Never used it, but I have used lots of West system and other epoxy’s, and have always thinned them standard alcohol! I’m sure someone else will suggest some other substance, but you might try a small amount with alcohol and see if it works for you.

    Favorite caliber to shoot

As soon as I cast some more .600 balls I will be back to the range to experiment some more with my Pedersoli trade gun. Last time I shot ball out of it, it was doing very good with 80 gr, FFG, 80 gr corn meal, and bare .600 ball, ant then a cardboard wad to hold it all together. Seemed to...

    Favorite caliber to shoot

To me, it depends what you are shooting at. I love the .54 for hunting, in both Kibler Woodsrunner, or the T/C white Mountain Carbine. Depending what the weather is. Big fat balls are easier to handle when your hands are cold, and you are as clumsy as I am. For just fun shooting at targets, or...

    dark area on cherry stock

I just finished a Woodsrunner in cherry. Kibler sent me a couple of cherry blocks to practice on and I tried the oven cleaner method on one, and left the other one in the sun a couple of days. I personally thought the lye method was way too dark. I have been putting the finished gun in the...

Who can jug choke a smoothbore barrel?

I use a Pedersoli 20 gauge Trade gun. I am shooting 80gr FFG, wool wad, 1 1/2oz 5 or 6 shot, and a cardboard topper to hold the shot in. I am experimenting with , powder-corn meal-shot -topper. At 25 yards I should be okay. I am looking for a 12ga double barrel, for a follow up shot if...
