    70 gr FFFg

For my .45 I start with 70gr of FFF, then find the "sweet spot." For the 50 I start with 75gr of FFF and find it's "sweet spot." These are my way to find a Hunting Load.

    Hog hunting in Alabama

Years back I hunted hogs, with much success, near Selma and South West of Greenville. Most of the hogs are located in South Alabama, although their territory is constantly expanding. Sometimes you can find folks advertising hunts in the Alabama Hunting magazine. It's a hoot and the meat is...

Cleaning patch and jag stuck in barrel

My CO2 system has saved me from a cussfest several times.

    Sunday hunting?

No "Blue Laws" in Alabama. I Love this State and their Gun and Hunting rules. :stir:

    Hunting Load

I too, tried going up 5gr from 50gr. My rifles "soft spot" was 70gr of black with a patched round ball. Good Luck your barrel may like a different load. :stir:

    Restarting a Hawken

You might look on Gunbroker and find one of those molds for a good price.

    weighing roundballs-beam scale

Listen to PowderMonkey and go the digital scale. The money spent will solve what could be a real P.I.T.A. for sure. :stir:

    32 Cal Results

That's a mighty fine group at 50 yards. Remember you are shooting a .32 not a 50 or 54. Do you really need to be able to shoot beyond 50 yards? Would you shoot a rabbit, squirrel or whatever beyond 50 yards? See what I mean? Just be happy...... :hatsoff:

Who's taken game with cap and ball revolver?

My Remington (Repo) .44 has taken a squirrel, turkey and a rabbit so far. Shot at a doe but no blood and no luck.

    50 cal t/c twist rate

Towgunners got it right 1x48 and yes they like the conny bullets better than the patched ball.

    Shotgun patterns left

When I was a kid I had a shotgun that shot a good pattern off to the left. This was with any shooter so the barrel must not have been straight. My grandfather took the barrel off the gun then place the barrel on two rubber shower shoes (on at each end of the barrel). He pressed the barrel...

    duck hunting- #4 shot?

I use lead shot here, but I use a #5 size shot. :stir:

    Absinthe

I like Turkish Yeni Raki as it has been stored in the "worm" barrel and is more powerful. A little Raki with water sure finishes the day well. :stir: I learned to drink that while stationed in Turkey. Brought some back and my Dad tried it. He was out shooting hoops with the neighbor kids...

    Field Dressing Rabbits?

You should post a "You Tube" type Video here so we can visually see what's done with this technique.

    Summer rabbit.

Here in the States it is best to wait at least until after the 1st hard frost.

    Ordered a rifle.

that's a good choice in both rifle and caliber. You should be able to hunt most anything Texas has to offer. That's a round ball twist barrel so get ready to work up a load for it. Good Luck and happy range time. :stir:

40-50 gr 45 cal rb loads for deer?

I target shoot with 50gr 3F but use 70gr of 3F for my .45 hunting load. I just prefer to be humane with the animal. Mostly it is shot placement anyway. Good Luck :stir:

    What keeps a conical in?

In over 50 years I have yet to experience a conical every moving on me. Of course I must say if I EVER felt one go in too easily I would switch to another bullet or go PRB. Of course if your rifle has a very worn bore that could be the reason. :stir:

    Smoke Pole Seasons

Education is always a plus, why not see what the course is all about? You may meet someone there that leads to a hunt. I NEVER turn down the chance to get in on a hunt or new information.
