Pedersoli 12g Side by Side Year? Value?

There's nothing easier to take it apart. Remove the ram-rod, pull the hammers back to half-cock, press the forearm nail out to the RHS (it's captive, so don't worry about losing it) and the barrels are free to lift out of the hooked breech. You have nothing to fear, or lose.

New Muzzle Loader and PH 451 Whitworth Shooter

For a hex mould, you could try the one made for/by Pedersoli. It's a .451 sized suitable for paper patched bullets. https://www.davide-pedersoli.com/scheda-accessorio.asp/l_en/idpr_482/pre_0/accessories-professional-bullet-moulds-whitworth-block-for-paper-patched-bullets.html Good luck

Was there a set punishment for a soldier who dry balled a gun??

I realise it's not the "traditional" thing to do, but why would anybody in this day and age persist with the tedious process of pouring tiny quantities of powder through the nipple/bolster/drum, when they could use something like this: -...

    Ballistol fumes?

Not only is the "ordinary" Ballistol a good product, but they also make a very good bore cleaner that I use. My local supplier is only able to get the small 65ml bottle - I wish I could buy the 1 litre bottle. Look here for a description: -...

    A good bore light?

I use a button jag, remove the patch spike and polish the face to the point where it becomes a mirror. Trim the length to be slightly longer than bore diameter so that it can't tip over and jamb, then allow it to slide down the bore till it's at full depth. Shine a lamp down the bore and the...

    Enfield ram-rods

Thanks Gus. Hard to imagine that there wasn't a "normal" tool for that purpose. One can only imagine that it must have been rather painful after loading a succession of rounds in the heat of skirmish. 49er

    Enfield ram-rods

I have done a advanced/search of the forum and not found the info' I'm hoping to find. Maybe you knowledgeable folks can help? I have a number of PH Enfield rifles that I enjoy shooting - 53, 58, 61, Volunteer, Whitworth. Each has its own ramrod but I choose to use dedicated PH rods, with the...
