    Ball weight to tight fit

Mould temp will make a difference, slightly but shouldn't be ten gn. Make sure the mould is closing all the way. Some of the old ones, don't always line up like they should. You should be able to old it up to the light and not see any light. Also sometimes the mould will get a tiny speck of lead...

    #10 or #11 Caps

A small Mom and Pop shop here has some 11s and musket caps. Not a bad price either.

    Hatfield rifle architecture.....

I put together a Frontier carbine from CVA many years ago. Looks sort of like a small version of a Hawken. When I showed up to a meet with it people made fun of my gun because of it's size, that is until I took 2 events with it.

I didn't have any friends with the knowledge and my first guns were used. I got a book from the library to learn from.

    Powder Magazine

Ammo cans were designed to carry ammo but also for long term storage, possibly in the outside elements. Also to for BP but for smokeless powder rounds. A big difference between BP and smokeless powder.

How Do I Get Rid of Old Percussion Caps?

What is wrong with the caps? Soaking in water will do little to nothing. When they dry out they will still likely work.

CVA Kentucky rifle, convert from cap to flint

I did many years ago. I had to make a Touchhole liner as I couldn't find a replacement(no internet then). I mad it from a metric bolt cut off. I bought a Traditions Flint, lock and it fit perfect. Traditions were made by the same company in Spain as CVA. I don't know if todays locks would be a...

    Kit question

Anything that removes rust will. I brain farted and used a green bathroom cleaner that I didn't realize removes rust stains. It removed the brown as fast as it could run down the barrel.

    New CVA mountain rifle

CVA were made in Spain with the exception of some of the Mountain rifles. This is the best gun CVA ever marketed so you got an exceptional buy. In your's condition it could easily go for 4 or 500 on todays market.

How cold is too cold for you to shoot?

It really depends on where you are and what you are use to. I AK I shot at 13 below but you get use to colder temps there and if you don't get out when it's cold you go stir crazy.

    Primers
