Pedersoli Indian Trade Musket - Review

Mr Dorsey I have broken a long time silence, if you will get into the woods and get some deer blood on your hands you will answer some of your questions. As far as a .32 for tree rats, you should need only one ball and a good rifle. You sound like a over excited, under hunted new black powder...

    Concerning the smoking of pipes

Notice things that produce smoke have a way of venting the same. It is not the smoke, it is the heat and retention of the carbon they will get us.

    Zouave Accuracy

Get yourself a Lee .58 REAL mould and you will love the results. This is in my experienced opinion the best load for my Euroarms Zouave. I use 50 gr. of fffg Goex behind the REAL with great results.

Dixie $. What am I missing?

Being an hour and a half from DGW, I make the trip often. Yes their prices have gone up on all stock from Goex to their kits. It is worth the trip alone to see the one of a kind wall hangers like the eight foot long .36cal flintlock made in the early 1800's using the rolled and hammered barrel...

how did they make a still?

Rebel I am not too far from you and would gladly pay 20 dollars for some fine corn water. My farm helpers like to relax with it. They say the stuff around here is made with corn meal and sugar. They also say it taste like the plastic bucket the mash worked in. I do not drink any more due to...

    Sad but true....

Flint and sidelocks are almost non-existant in the big chain stores. I was up north for a family visit and enjoy shopping Cabelas in Dundee MI. I have purchased several muzzleloaders from them and been happy with quality and service. This past trip no flint or sidelocks were on the display wall...

Which brand of round ball mold?

I like the Lee products better than Lyman. I have used both and eventually sold all my Lyman stuff on Fee-Bay.

    Richland .50 cal questions

I have a chance to bid on a Richland .50 cal tomorrow at an estate auction. I have seen the picture and the gun appears to be a half stock Hawken style. I Googled the maker and found very little on their muzzleloaders. Any advise and comments are welcome concerning quality and value.

    Davide Pedersoli

IMHO they are the best "production" guns I have owned. I have four DP guns and several made by others. The exchange rate will not stop rising. Buy now or pay more later.

    Acessories for .58 cal.

Gorilla Glue is the strongest I have used to fix ramrod issues. I pulled the worm off glued it back with GG, a year later it still works.

    Flint questions, type, etc....??

If you can find a Tennessee or Alabama flintknapper, get some heat treated Buffalo River chert ( a type from the FT. Payne Formation)flints. They out spark the English and French flints. They are blood red to light pink.

    touchhole liners

I agree, all the argument over PC and HC is BS. Because I do not shoot a PRB out my ML I an not HC/PC. Like a Civil War reactor arguing over the uniform of another person, then the HC Nazi sleeps in a hard shell camper with air/heat. :bull: :bull: :bull: :bull: Some people can take the fun...

CVA Double Barrel in .410 gauge?

I would love to have a 410 ML. I grew up with a cheap ole' H&R and would pit it against any 28 guage. I remember when three inch shells were $2.00 a box and thought that was expensive compared to the cheaper 12 guage field loads. I still have the old unmounted Lee hand press reloader for the 410...

How do I load buck ball?

If your punching paper targets, no problem. If you are hunting, check your local/state laws. My state considers this load buckshot, which is an illegal hunting load.
