    Single Shot Percussion Target Pistols

I believe I got mine in 2-3 months, quicker than what they told me it would be. This was last year. Probably depends on how many orders are pending.

Also on the Gun Works site, you can get an original Le Page: http://www.thegunworks.com/custprodgun.cfm?ProductID=4593&do=detail&Cat2Option=yes

    Single Shot Percussion Target Pistols

Another alternative is The Gun Works English pistol. I have one in flint. It is not fancy, but the workmanship is excellent and it is a good shooter. Price is reasonable for what you get, and turn around time is pretty quick...

What happens when you buy a new pistol the morning of a shoot

Very nice looking gun. I've thought about getting the flintlock version. How is the balance on it?

    flintlock pistol - fire start

No need to risk setting off the main charge. Simply remove the lock before using it as a tinder lighter.

    E.M.F. 1860 Snub Nose revolver

Love the one with the longer barrel and fluted cylinder, that's a beautiful piece. Did you do the work yourself?

    Hatfield fullstock

I bought one when they first came out,it was an excellent gun, very accurate. Unfortunately, I had to sell it to fund a more PC custom gun. Wish I still had it.

recomended load for 20 gauge pistol.

Interesting results using the formula. 6", .56 barrel= puny 17 grain load. 42" .50 barrel= 95 grains, a little stouter than the 55 grains I usually use. 42" .62 barrel= pretty hefty 145 grains But as was pointed out, these are the most efficient loads, not necessarily the best performance wise.

    Small flintlock pistols?

Not quite accurate. I bought one of the Palmetto copies from Dixie, and it didn't work AT ALL. :( Complete piece of garbage.

    Small flintlock pistols?

Here's some more box lock pistols (originals) which Dixie seems to have quite frequently. http://www.dixiegunworks.com/default.php?cPath=21_23_43

    Small flintlock pistols?

Something like this perhaps? http://www.roystroh.com/custommuzzleloaders8.html I have no idea on price, though.

    Saw Handle flint Pistol

The Gun Works pistols seem to be quality. If you're looking for something a little less pricey but still decent, the Lyman Plains Pistol might fit the bill. (And it's a half-stock)

    Supplier question

I would think that responding to an e-mail would be less disruptive to one's work day than a phone call (answer the e-mail at your leisure vs. stop what you are doing to pick up the phone). In the last two months, I have contracted to have three custom items built as a result of e-mail...

    Traditions Penn. Long Rifle-Muzzle heavy?

Sorry to hear about Tippecanoe closing as well. I was thinking I had been there not all that long ago, but time does tend to fly.

    Traditions Penn. Long Rifle-Muzzle heavy?

Ron- Have you been to the Tippicanoe Frontier Trading Post in Tipp City? They sometimes have used custom guns there.

    Worst Pistols

Screw barrel flintlock pocket pistol made by Palmetto. It wasn't cheap (I believe it was like a couple hundred bucks from Dixie Gun Works) but the quality was on par with the pot metal "non-firing replica" guns that you can buy. Nothing fit properly together. You couldn't close the frizzen on...

Anyone have a TVM "Matt's Pistol"

It believe it is supposed to represent a mid to third quarter eighteenth century type pistol- particularly with the octagon to round barrel and butt shape. Early pistols usually had no sights or just a front sight. The "Kentucky" styles didn't really become prevalent until the 1790s or so. A...

    cleaning a ruger old army

I just clean up my revolver cylinders in the kitchen sink with hot water and Q-tips. I do remove the nipples to facilitate cleaning them, and also to make sure the nipple threads are dry/lubricated after I'm done cleaning. Oh, and if you use the kitchen sink, make sure the stopper is in the...
