    New barrel for Renegade

I needed to scrap on the barrel channel, pin had to much pressure on it. Looked close at breech to tang fit, not full contact. Need to mate them up

    New barrel for Renegade

I'm using .570 ball with denim witch is a little thicker than the .02 store bought. ff powder; 95, 100, 110 and 118 grain charges. At 80 yards the best was a 6" group from a solid rest. I scrubbed with JB paste to start with. I'm always checking patches, with the denim there is no cutting any...

    Dremel bit?

Being old and retired from construction work I have files, have to find them. Been using dremel recently (pistol stand), sure is handy and yes can be quick. Thought I would chance it on sights that are too tall and proud. If I slip, I get more attractive sights. I'll look at Lowe's. Does Harbor...

Stuck ball, now with drill bit

No it does not. The force of the grease gun is not pushing when it goes around it.

Stuck ball, now with drill bit

Zerk and grease will not work if it is stuck well. Grease will ooze around it, big mess. Shoot it out.

I know about the dry ball club; but is there a no ball club?!?

I had a lead ball behind an iron tipped rr, 50" barrel, .54,40g 3f, maybe 10th shot from a new rifle. I seldom use the rifle rr at the range except for this time. The lead got around the tip and locked it up. The forward 16"s of rod snapped off and hit target. Still makes me cringe.

Do we have any song writers around here? I for sure am not but I see a need for a little ditty starting with: Powder patch ball

Being a member of the ram rod shooters I recommend brass tips, no steel.

    Barrel twist for PRB

For rb slow twist allows greater velocity. Accuracy is fine in 1 in 48.

    Pressure Changes by Barrel Length

At that point where projectile is just starting to move, powder is still burning, pressure and velocity climbing.
