    A muzzle loading assault rifle

Well that’s what the wording on it says. I just looked it up in search and only got one hit that didn’t go into any detail [back in 2012]. Always been fascinated by the Yooper. So here’s a few pics. The full gun in all its simple beauty. The complexity of the trigger mechanism may be a bit hard...

    Indian muskets

Just read this on an Indian site: ” Indian made muskets Post by Cordite » Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:44 pm Hi Kanwar76 I read those links, very reassuring (I'm literally blown away, pun intended!) by the story of the mercilessly SEVERE C.I.P. proof test done on an Indian Musket in Germany. An...

    Source of trigger/bolt springs . . .

and whatever else comes to mind. Come in various sizes and are cheap, readily available and made of apparently good quality spring steel.

    Pryce and Cashmore revolver

Didn’t know about these until doing a bit of browsing on the You tube English, 5 shot, double action, with normal DA and SA but also a third configuration where the trigger is pulled about half way allowing the cylinder to be rotated freely but also allowing the hammer to be fired with less...

A Muzzle loader among the other types,

Many years ago I read in ‘ Muzzle Blasts’ or similar about a man who came along to a famed Open shotgun shoot in England and asked if he could compete using his m/l shotgun Amid some amusement the Judges readily welcomed him to shoot. To the amazement of the other shooters he won; then the...

Offered by Lawrance Ordnance in Sydney. https://www.lawranceordnance.com/default/shop/firearms/french-c-1850-officers-pistols-pair.html Simon doesn’t often have antiques but these caught my eye. Lots of photos of them on the site. Have a look at the close up of the dog’s head hammer.

    Kentucky pistol

I’m starting the remodeling of my Pedersoli “Kentucky” into something, hopefully, more historically accurate. First job, remove the finish. This was easier said than done, my fiercest paint stripper did absolutely nothiall, so it was strip by scrapers and abrasive paper. It came off...

    A Superb Percussion Rifle

By Stephen Alexander and engraved by my friend the late Lynton McKenzie. The site has superb photos of this and other fine guns both breech and muzzle loading, I came across it while browsing. Be sure to look at Lynton’s engraving in the close ups. https://www.hallowellco.com/antique_guns.htm

    Supplies for muzzle loaders

Specifically for pistols I got three car bonnet support arms from a friend’s scrap bin. The shaft is 5/16” by 10”, just right for a range rod and for a puller for the .45 Kentucky pistol.

    ‘Kentucky’ by Pedersoli

Picked it up this morn from the Club Armourer, 45 cal and made in 1992. In remarkably good condition almost new.. The lock is very good but a clean and a bit of polishing will make it even better, has a fly. The grain is a bit weak across the grip but as I intend to fit a bras grip cap a...

    Pedersoli .45 “Kentucky”

This almost new pistol is waiting at my dealer’s for my paper work to arrive from the RegIstry. But I’ve had my hot little hands on it and it’s in excellent condition. Here’s a couple of not good photos that I took as the Sun was getting low. After a close examination I couldn’t find how the...

    X-ray of a drowned Bess

“This is a CT scan x-ray image of a Brown Bess musket, believed to be a 1769 short land pattern, that was recovered in 2012 by LAMP (Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program) archaeologists from the Storm Wreck, a colonial period shipwreck believed to have wrecked on 31 December 1782. This...

    A Bess like musket

If we were to call the common Bess “Miss Bess” then this one would be “Lady Bess” She’s very refined and her lock shows good breeding. Unfortunately I’ve hit a snag and can’t bring the lock up Seller’s text, ”A rare and very high quality 11B Brown Bess type flintlock musket made by H. W...

    1627 Snaphance Pistol

Another fine pistol from my favourite Australian vendor, even though I can’t afford 99% of his stuff.A 1627 Snaphance. The site, which is fairly extensive, is easy to follow and has no restrictions on copying, is called ‘Steel and Shot’; https://steelandshot.com.au/

A fine pistol from Le Page, pricey too.

First, from the vendor’s description, ”The swamped, sighted, .60 calibre, octagonal barrel has micro groove rifling and is deeply chiselled with interlaced vines and ‘LA PAGE A PARIS’ on the top flat. The gilded barrel tang has similar decoration. The lock and all its components are chiselled or...
