    If it bothers you, I’d wire weld those notches, file them flat, use a file to remove the mill marks on the rest of the barrel and then reblue. That’s just my thoughts.

    I’ve got an antique butcher knife I’m letting go of. It’s pretty long and fairly sharp but could use a good sharpening. It is in fairly good shape, but has a small notch out of one of the slabs. This would make a great scalper for a re-enacter. 30$ shipped to your house.

    I couldn’t tell you if It’s 100 percent wool or not.. my guess is, that it is, it feels like wool. The lining looks to be a heavy linen. There isnt any tags or makers marks.. I will say it’s very well made. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
