Trigger weight on Black Powder Revolvers?

If it's a bit stiff try some lube before you do any work. I use Aluminum anti seize on internals and it smoothed the trigger nicely.

    First time casting

Opened the spout on my bottom pour to a #40. Helped a lot. Pours minis fast. Added a spring to the plunger arm to hold it down. Got to be 30 years old and still works great.

Lapping the Barrel with JB bore Paste

.535 and thinner patch with good lube. I find 70%-75% wax with remaining % of veggie oil cooked together makes a good lube and works well for patches, general lube, waterproofing and overball for revolvers by adding more wax to make it thicker. Do not lap a new barrel until you have exhausted...

    Not swamped but

Swamped though it will balance octagon to should be lighter and better balance. Rounding takes the weight off the end. If I thought I needed some I'd use a solid brass ram rod closest size useable for the caliber and required weight. I'd take a 32 as light as I could find. It's not that needed...

    Navy Arms Buffalo Hunter

Ah the Zouave carbine. Nice handling. Mine likes 65gn fff under a thumb push sized mini lubed with wax/veggie oil. Haven't got serious with it but just plinking it's smack on at 25 yards. I'm not sure about this particular one but check the snail to make sure it's not brazed on. My understanding...

    New to black powder shooting

Depending on availability of supplies in your area a flinter is good option. Before anything I would locate the things I need and then order all of it. Black powder does favor best in a flinter. 4f in pan but 3f can work too. I have used pyrodex "P" without issue but wouldn't trust it in the...

New to me rifle with leaking nipple?

If welded the seal will be around the edges. Brazing will fill under. I wouldn't want to leave a gap for pressure to collect. I'm with others that say to contact the seller. The pix show evidence that it has been bad for some time. GB should be very concerned. Tell them either a safe barrel or...

    Buying scrap lead question ...

For a PRB it's nominal because there is no contact with barrel. IMHO I would not use any wheel weights for any mini, maxi or any projectile that requires contact.

    Help a new shooter out.

Track of the Wolf has very good selection and good match up discription of application.

    Cleaning between rounds

Shoot thinnest patch that works. Every now and then use the thickest patch that works. Helps to push the crud on top of powder instead of possibly getting in the flash channel.

    Nipple size?

If it shoots leave it alone. Check out Track of the Wolf. They have a very good selection and use description.

TC maxiball too tight in a TC Hawken ?

Rolling on hard surface can help if the amount to size is minimal. I've found that most of the time the amount to size is just enough of out of round to cause issues. Typically at the mold seam. A drill press and a selection of micro adjustable reamers is all you need to make sizer block. I use...

Front sight on a Pietta Navy, is it just a press fit?

I figure when these and other arms were in their hay day the situations they we're used was not in a ready aim manor. Also the components were not cheap for the average user. I can see a person shooting just enough to know how accurate it is in point and shoot. I would think even 25 yards would...

Everyone but me and two others know about this!!

Are you nutz? Buy it. Remove from box. Scratch it up a bit. Throw box and paperwork away. WOW honey. Look what I found on side of road.

Everyone but me and two others know about this!!

Never used them. A hose, bottle and tight patch with a 15 minute soak and the pressure pushing an pulling the soapy water through the channel will clean it real slick. Handy in he field or at range though. Still, never had to in the field or at range in 45 years.
