    Cutting a barrel down

I understand that the ATF does not consider black powder guns as “firearms”, so does this exempt them from the required barrel lengths for rifles and shotguns? The reason I ask is the couple of posts that discuss blanket guns, and the web sites that offer them for sale. What’s the scoop?

    Sharpening a flint

One of my many hobbies is the lapidary arts, and I have a diamond wheeled cabochon machine. I have not tried it yet but am willing to bet I could reshape the worst flint. and would be willing to try if someone has some really trashed flints.

    The bug has bit...

I have a number of cap locks and have shot them off and on over the years, but have never been hands on with a flintlock. I just got a couple of sea service pistols and have been having a blast (pun intended) with them. Now I am stating to plan on getting a .62 smooth bore to go with them. Is...

    New Pedersoli arrived pitted!

Hey Duckmuzzle, I see this is your first post, drop over to the camp section and introduce yourself, welcome to the forum. I can't say I have ever had any issues with Dixie Gun Works. Did you call them and give them a chance to fix the situation? Blessings Oldpagan

    Argh...

Thanks Zonie, I'll try that and see if it gives me a clue. Let me be clearer though, cock hammer, pull set trigger and then main (nothing happens), then pull set trigger and then main a second time and the hammer drops. Whats sad is it worked fine when I took it apart :( Blessings Oldpagan

    Argh...

Ok, I am rebuilding a CVA hawken and am putting all the parts back on the stock and am having an issue with the lock - trigger interface. At first I didn't seem to have any connection between them. The hammer would cock back but the trigger would not release. Messed with it a bit and the hammer...
