    pickling eggs

    I cheat a bit also but I use pickled sausage juice. I wait till I see an almost empty jar of pickled sausages at the local quick mart. Eat the remaining sausages and drop a dozen hardboiled eggs in and wait a week or better. :) :thumbsup:

    I must agree with all the above i have also made my own from a flat bobbie pin. its not hard if you take your time and remove the varnish. my (new)spring has lasted me hundreds of rounds. :v

    Wads

    I agree wads are very good for that and also to fill space. I also use the crisco. just overkill I guess but it works for me. also I belive that the night shot was not a chain fire. but I would guess it was a heavy load by looking at the hammer kickback. :shocked2: :thumbsup:

    just an idea but you could also use a method that the pnw indains used. they would ty reeds and saplings in to mats then use the mats like you would a canvas. they also dug the floor area down about 2 feet deep to make more room and to stay cooler.

    another thing that they did(at least in the western areas) was make trips to out lying forts and trade stations.the hudson bay co.,american fur co.,and several others would set up trade posts in vallys on rivers for trading with indians and other trappers.
