Poll: Will the closing of Goex dissuade you from buying a Flintlock?

For me, yes it absolutely impacts whether or not I will buy another flintlock, or another BP firearm whatsoever. I am only an occasional hobbyist. I own 1 flintlock and a few caplock rifles and 1 caplock pistol. If supply of BP is not there, it kind of defeats the nature of the sport. I am...

    manual meat grinder?

Onto my next question: the numbers/sizes of the grinders. Are they universal, or are they proprietary to the brand/manufacturer? I.E. are #8, 10, 22, and 32 all standardized, do they take the same blades and plates no matter which brand/manufacturer? What do the numbers/sizes mean?

    manual meat grinder?

What is a good quality manual (hand crank) meat grinder that you guys use? Got my first deer this year, and I would like to try making my own sausage with it. Don't really want to break the bank if I am not successful with it. Thanks guys.

    replacement wooden ramrods?

That's what I did. The 9mm rod from TOW ended up being a hair over 10mm. My ramrod entry thimble is 9mm. I ordered the 9mm rod thinking it was 9mm. The tips ended up being 9mm, the rod itself is wider.

    replacement wooden ramrods?

Brass would be acceptable, but would really increase the weight of the gun. I have a brass rod in my hawken, and I find that helps with recoil a bit. That is about the limit to extra weight I could handle. Brass in a longrifle, doable but probably extremely heavy.

    replacement wooden ramrods?

Am planning a trip to Log Cabin in the spring once everything thaws out and stops flooding throughout the areas here in SE MI/Northern OH. Will try there in the spring. Should probably take those guns with me for test fitting?

    replacement wooden ramrods?

Does anybody have any links or know of distributors of wooden ramrods for logrifles? After a long hiatus from muzzleloading, I am deciding to get back into it. I have two flintlock longrifles (a Dixie/Pedersoli PA in 45 and a custom built lefty in 45 cal) that both need new ramrods. I have...

    traditions trapper?

How is the quality of the Traditions Trapper? I am considering one to go with my Hawken rifle in 50 caliber, as I want to start participating in local matches this year if possible. It is a choice between the Trapper and the Lyman Plains pistol. Thanks.

    T/C cleanout screw size/thread pitch?

I just received my barrel from the ebay seller. It is exactly as he described it. It is missing all the parts, but the bore is shiny and clean, no trace of ever being shot. cost was $56 plus shipping. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

Thank you kind sir! Very much appreciated

    T/C cleanout screw size/thread pitch?

It's not the touch hole. There is a hole in the side of the breech plug 90 degrees from the nipple/touch hole. It was supposedly easier to machine/manufacture in earlier production models of the T/C hawken. Later examples supposedly didn't have this hole.

    T/C cleanout screw size/thread pitch?

Hey everyone, I just won an auction for what appears to be a 50 caliber T/C hawken barrel, presumably from a kit, still in the white and in unfired condition according to the seller. it is missing the under rib and thimbles, sights, and the clean out screw in the breech. What size/thread...
