I'm pretty sure there's an unwritten rule somewhere that says, if you start making horns as a regular thing, you have to make at least one Tansel horn....(someone should check the bylaws or something.... :'( ) So, 2 years ago, give or take, I started on mine. Got the tip turned -antler- base...

    "Toy" horn for my son.

:hatsoff: horn looks good and the story only makes it better! My 5 yr old daughter is always looking at my horns asking, "can that be mine?" What can I say to that? So I tell everyone I make a horn for that they're getting one of Abbey's horns! :haha: :haha:

    Drill a curved hole

Personally I suggest a spade bit to burning, not for any other reason than its what I'm used to. Although, I tried burning a horn once, heated an old round file red hot jammed her in and saw flames shoot out about 6 inches 'round my hand- so glad I was wearing gloves for that one!! Haven't tried...

    Penobscot horn

Penobscots are a Native American nation that lived in the New England/Canadian region of North America. The horn is credited to a Penobscot artist, though it is "unknown" according to the museum. Though interestingly, the site also has another " Penobscot" horn, that looks amazingly similar...

    Question about horn stopper

wood stopper all the way, taper fit to the horn. think of it this way: The horn is airtight 'cept two places; the Base and the spout, well the base -properly done- is taken care of, the spout, well, it needs to be removeable, but still absorb any possible moisture that the horn comes in contact...
