    TC Patriot Value

I have a buddy that has a TC Patriot Pistol and is wondering the value of it. I have looked a bit online at the auction sites and have found the price to be all over the map. What would you say would be an accurate value to place on one of these if you were selling one? Thanks for the help...

    GM Sale barrels?

Roundball, What did it cost you to get your rifled 62 rifled and who did it for you? I am thinking about picking up a discount flint 62 if they have any left and sending it off to get rifled for a project I may work up. Any idea when the sale is over? Any idea of the remaining stock? I just...

T/C Hawken Silver Elite went for $1276!

I have a Lyman I cobbled up that looks a lot like that only a flinter that I would let go for half of that.

    Replacement Ramrods

The next time I build some Ramins from my "Stash" I will whip up a few for you to try. BTW - I meant to mention earlier in the previous reply, that Ramin dowels are CHEAP to buy. You could buy a couple dozen and cull through them to get some usable ramrods cheaper than ordering a couple and...

    Replacement Ramrods

Good Ramin is one of the toughest doweling out there. Ramin doesn't actually have a grain structure like we are used to with our native woods. The way to tell if Ramin is good or not is to rub some stain on one to bring out the rather unusual grain that is almost impossible to see without this...

    Henry Leman Trade Rifle Info

I finally reread your post and realized where you are. Man I wish you were closer to Edmonton. I would love to see that kit and be able to have someone who's brain I could pick locally. Good luck on the Build.

Great info so far guys!!!! Keep it coming! Rusty, where are you in Alberta??

    Henry Leman Trade Rifle Info

I am thinking very seriously about building a Leman Full Stock Flint Rifle and would like to get some feedback from some that have studied them and or own and or hunt with a replica. I am not into Re-enacting or anything that requires me to be PC or HC, but I would like to build one that is...

    Flint leather question

A few minutes with a file to add some bite to the jaws would be an EASY fix.

    conversions

It will work. You will have to inlet some for the traditional mainspring being bigger than the coil spring in the Lyman lock you have now. I made a Frankenstein Monster Lyman out of a Stainless Steel Percussion Deer Stalker Stock and furniture, Trade Rifle Flint Barrel, and an L&R Replacement...

    my most memorable shot ever!!!

Ken absolutely respects the animals he hunts. Although we have never met in person, I know much about him from his posts here and elsewhere. I for one would be honored to share the woods with you buddy. Glad you had a good day in spite of the misses. It is a good thing you have a sash to...

    Bear Hunting with PRB

I have killed lots of deer with a compound. I have also killed 2 deer, one moose and one bear with traditional equipment; and the bear was by far the easiest to kill and fastest to die. They have thin skin. The key is to shoot behind the leg bone and double lung them. I would think the 50...

Chambers Mark Silver or Edward Marshall?

Buffler, I haven't handled either, but there is a lot more metal in the Mark Silver in 58 cal. I personally think the Edward Marshall would be a better handling gun in 58. I want one too!! You should order 2 of the Edward Marshall kits and send one to me for Christmas. LOL!!! Brian AKA...

RB point of impact vs. Maxiballs

My rifle has a much lower point of inpact with Maxi-balls. You should be able to use a good bit lower front sight from my experience. YRMV Brian

    Looking for a barrel

I would think the optimum PRB twist in a 72 would be a bit slower, but I may be wrong.

    RMC 1/48 twist

Somebody better tell roundball you can't shoot those 1 in 48 twists accurately past 40 or 50 yards. :rotf: I have a 1 in 48 lyman trade rifle barrel that will consistently shoot 2 inch groups off a bench at 100 yards if the jerk on the trigger is on his game. You just have to find a load...

    Starter/Moderate kit build suggestions?

How about cutting your teeth on a Tennesee Poor Boy from TVM?? I am thinking about doing the same thing with the Poor Boy Fowler.
