    ok I read BOTH books and recommend them both. rockhouses was a "different" type of book....not a typical historical book. lots of john currys personal experiences throughout..... the simon girty book was top notch. girty was a woodsman on par with Kenton and Boone...maybe a notch above.anyway...

    anybody use glass cleaner to clean their barrel? I tried it and it seems to work great. like 3-4 patches and its clean! I just wonder why more guys don't use it?

    In a strange twist of fate I ran into john curry at ft. Fredrick today. I ended up buying his second book for $40. and got to talk with him for a half hour or so. a very nice man. you could see his eyes light up when he was telling me about some of his treks. cant wait to start reading......
